Re: Phuridai
Hehe, a meatlocker, that's unique.
I really liked practical Magick too, I'd like to read the book, heard it's a bit different from the movie.

It's not really a question of having a particular shape....
It's more along the lines of being able to turn into anything and anyone I wanted.
Kind of like being all things to all people....
Whatever shape was needed at the moment.
Antisocial
When I say "antisocial" I really mean I have developed a serious "caution" around most people.....tend not to trust them. This is, in part, due to the environs that my husband kept me in. He is ex-military and we moved around a lot. His locations of choice tended to be extremely small, extremely fundamentalist Christian towns. I spent a lot of time trying to be invisible!
Most say though, really love this board and all the people here. I am very comfortable here.

?
I was first introduced to Wicca at the age of 9. Started reading about it on my own. Became fully involved when I joined a coven (Dianic) at 18. That only lasted about 2 yrs. as this particular group of people had serious issues. Since then, I have been winging it as a solitary, eclectic practitioner.
As to how it has affected my life....? If I come across as strong in any way, it has to be because the Goddess that called to me is the Dark Lady/Crone Aspect. And make no mistake.....I was "Called."
The major theme with this lovely Lady is that she likes to put you in difficult situations so that you HAVE to work through your karma! Tough Love and all that! She has manifested in my life rather like Coyote (hope you can relate).
She has taught me to be incredibly flexible and adaptable and has taken me to some really bizarre places both on the mundane plane of existence and the dream/astral/spiritual plane! She has also removed any and all fear of death or dissolution due to interaction with ancestral spirits and those of my family who have recently passed. Since She also tends to be a very powerful Primordial Warrioress influence, I am being led to work through issues I have with confrontation. Since I am now officially a senior citizen, most of the lessons I am being taught are coming to a head! LOL
My journey has not always been comfortable, but it is NEVER boring!
My practice tends to be more shamanistic than orthodox wiccan and I incorporate elements of both. My totem is Snake and I recently acquired Vulture as a teaching spirit!(Go figure!) LOL

Bali or Sri Lanka. And I would share it with 'Manda (wouldn't be any fun unless I had by best bud along!) and the Hollywood Hunks of our choice!

Re: Phuridai
HHHHMMMM....Snake....I just went through "Transmutation" myself, working on my East shield....Snake in my culture,is one of the three paths to the East,Very interesting ....Snake is one I relate very well too.I really love how you wrote your story,I could smell fresh dug Earth...You know like in Spring when your tilling up the Earth to plant the garden...
Is Phuridai,a special name in Wiccan?Or is it a meaning of something personal to you?It has a very strong energy to it...so I was just curious,if you do not feel like explaining,I will understand...

Re: Phuridai
I am not necessarily drawn to the culture as to the title itself. It just jumped out at me while I was reading about how the gypsies worship the Black Madonna as Sara-Kali.
As to whether I am of that ancestry......could very well be a possibility! Gramma was very vague about her country of origin and her family name......and my Dad and his brothers certainly fit the part.....swarthy complected with coarse, black hair, prominent noses...and a con man attitude!
