Poetry from Moria...
Another sad poem by stupid little me... Some of you may have read that at Mordor already... anyway... here goes...
~Children of a Dying Day~
by the Lady of Moria
As dawn draws near we lift our heads, we're waiting
to greet the sun, we turn our weary eyes
but what we see instead is only darkness,
a threat'ning shadow rising black to veil the skies
Look to the east, this darkness without mercy
devours the world, the land is lost in gloom,
we shiver for the plains of ancient honour
have turned into a deadly field of doom
No sign of hope will shine in death and battle
and in this darkest night we're left alone,
dark blood keeps flowing, minutes feel like hours
and every hour past the shadow's ever grown
We can but stand and watch, endure the torture,
the time draws near, it's either rise or fall,
heavy the burden that we carry into battle
for on our shoulders lies the fate, the fate of all
In deaths embrace our failing eyes seek heaven,
the sun is dark, a voice is mourning far away:
Oh weep, oh weep for there is no salvation
for us, the children of a dying day...
Ah yes, just in case you wondered... this is meant to be about the Battle of Pelennor Fields...

That is awesome! All your poetry is awesome!
I shut my eyes and turned them on my heart. As a man calls for wine before he fights, I asked one draught of earlier, happier sights, Ere fitly I could hope to play my part. Think first, fight afterwards--the soldier's art: One taste of the old time sets all to rights.
