Powers of Jedi vs. Sith
Warning - the observation I am about to make is from Episode III, so if you are a poor soul who has not seen it, read no further.
I was just thinking about a couple of lines from ROTS that if you think about them together create a subtle irony that makes a commentary on which side of the Force is "stronger". Palpatine tells the story about Darth Plagius learning to prolong life. Then he makes the comment about how ironic that he could save the life of others but not his own. So at the end of the movie we have Yoda sharing his secret with Obi-Wan about Qui-Gon learning the secrets of immortality.
So we have a Sith Lord who may or may not have discovered the secret to saving other people (is it a true story or made up by Palpatine to bait Anakin?) who could not save himself and a Jedi who has learned the secret of immortality.
You could argue, of course, anout how much good can you actually do as a ghost, but how much good is the power to bring somone back from the dead for a Sith? The other question, of course, would be how a Jedi who couldn't even do a mond trick to save his life and whose best trick was cheating at dice could discover immortality... but that's a topic for another thread.
One more comment on light side vs dark side powers from ROTS - anyone else notice how Yoda actually uses the Force as a weapon against a living being (Palpatine)? I had always assumed that was major taboo for a Jedi. Guess I was wrong about that.
