 Prayers for a new members stepdad
We were supposed to be getting a new member,MsAbsinthe,but she sent me a message,that pretty much explains why she hasn't shown up yet.
Her stepdad,who's very important to her,and has terminal multiple myeloma,is in the hospital.His kidneys are failing.They believe he was trying to force his kidneys to work,by overdoing it with water pills,which depleted his potassium levels,and have worsened the kidney failure.
She's very freaked out,because she isn't near him,and doesn't have a car that will make the trip to see him,either.So,I'm asking everyone to please pray,or send some energy,that somehow,she will be able to find a way to be with him,while she can.
I'm not sure exactly where she lives,but believe she's in the San Francisco area,if that helps.I don't know where her stepdad is,I forgot to ask.

Ok,Dads name is Rudy Roberts,and he's in a hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma.Julie,is in Anaheim,California,near Disneyland.Let me copy and paste some of the info Julie sent me.
"Specifics: His potassium levels are not staying constant, they are all over the place, and he cannot pee on his own; they had to run a catheter. We suspect he may have upped his water pills to force himself to pee, which may have caused the potassium problem, not sure.
They called in the Kidney specialist, who's seeing what he can do.
Also, he was part of the cleanup crew in the Air Force on Okinawa, cleaning up the Radiation in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, that's what caused the Multiple Myeloma, from research. I think he was weakened by the prostate cancer, then this took oportunity.
Specific locations: his rib cage; that's why he's on oxygen, puts pressure on his lungs, hurts to breathe. He's a fighter, his will is stronger than his body.
He needed 4 more treatments of Velkaid, then go on a maintenence dose of a new Tholidimide blend, if it's past the FDA, which WOULD keep things at bay!
Body is weak, but he wants desperately to live, and I'm so weak, and I've been starting to weave a spell, but I'm worn out, I sure could use the help! Trying to give him the energy he needs to regain control.
He's okay with the oxygen, he just wants to live...he's begging to live, I spoke with him the night before he went to the hospital, you could hear it; he hurts, but he isn't through.
It's so sad, he wanted to take my mom around the world, then this happened. They spent 20 years of their lives raising kids again, he's in his '80s, and he just wants to cut his gem stones again, not too much!"

Julie sent me another PM last night,wanting me to thank everyone for thier prayers,and energy.Her stepdad is doing amazingly well,his potassium levels are stabilizing,and the docs think his cancer may be going into remission.
Her mother called her and said"Guess who's sitting up on the side of the bed next to me,now?" Which I think shocked her somewhat,since things didn't sound so good the other day.
I told her I couldn't wait to see her here,too(hint,hint-push,push).Hopefully,now that things are looking up,she'll come and jump in,so she can update you, herself.
Hopefully,her stepdad will continue to make progress,so he can at least spend some of the time he wanted to spend with her mom.

Found you all, I'm here!
Had a hard time finding the link, too much on my mind, but Shadeaux resent it.
Thank you all so much, that was pretty powerful, and my mom said thank you!
I'm still exhausted and weak, but I don't much care, he's alive! His type of cancer is one that you don't see often, but it's always deadly. If the cancer doesn't get you, the chemo will. He's been in chemo since January almost constant, and it just finally wore out his body.
The new chemo treatment, which the clinical trials have had wonderful results, which will be released to us by the FDA in December sometime. THAT is what we have been waiting for, for him to make it to that, because this stuff is like a watered down thalidimide, without the numbing of the limbs, he can't feel his hands, or the waist down right now. This stuff wouldn't do that, just a maintenance dose, so if his cancer can possibly be kept in remission until that point, then he has a real chance to live out his days peacefully, without that horrible pain.

On top of everything, I at least found out why I'm extra weak this week - I had to give up Mtn. Dew, due to a new med, made it have a nasty after taste!
Can you say caffeine withdrawals!?

 Stepdad update!
My Stepfather has continued his improvement, and made a big deal in going to the doctor with just his backpack of his oxygen tank on this weak, sans the cane and wheelchair!
All are thankful for his improvement.
