Purcussion
The following, is an adequate "repercussion"...
Herlin
He was unbelievable, man...
It was like he'd implode,
collapse.
He fell all over his kit, fast crackin' rims.
He quickly fluidly flams.
Hearing tidal flats precipitation,
silting salts from hands.
His windblown, paper,
step-by-numbers dance lesson shoeprints, grasped
and back...
He, then, takes time to line back up
his pattern boxes' tack.
Dedicated to Herlin Reily, drummer for The Wynton Marslis Septet. For his Hagerstown stop on the Blue Interlude tour, which expanded the bound of what I knew possible, through human synergy.
I felt, the image of managing dancing on a rolling sailship, as it gradually made itself manifest, effacious.
