Explanations of positions
Alpha: Boss of everyone. Makes final decisions regarding pack, mating, hunting, and new members. Final authority on all decisions. An Alpha's word is law!
Beta: Second in command. They are greatly respected in the hierarchy. They help the alpha in all pack duties, especially at the borders.
Gamma: The gammas are the peacekeepers within the pack. they should, however, seek out the beta(s) if things get too rough.
Delta: The deltas are usually the most skilled at hunting. They arrange pack hunts, and usually lead the hunts along with the alphas.
Sigma: Also known as the pup sitter...they are in charge of the pups at all times. They are also in charge of teaching the pups important things they need to know, such as proper submission techniques.
Omega: These are the lowest ranking wolves in the hierarchy. They are also usually the most playful. They must eat last during pack hunts, and are punished if caught stealing.
The scouts check the borders for new wolves. Then they assess the wolf, and when the alpha or beta arrives, they will let them know how they feel the wolf will fit in with the pack. Ultimately, the decision is up to the alpha, but the scout plays a crucial part in the acceptance of a new wolf.
Members are expected to help out wherever needed.
