Raekal Dushain-The First (BT)
Name: Raekal Dushain
Age: 17
Appearance:
Raekal is tall, almost 6 ft even. He has light blond hair that he keeps pulled back into two braids running on each side of his head, one above each ear. They meet at thet crown of his head and fall as one to about his shoulder blades in an intricate braid/ponytail. He has cold blue eyes, that have taken on a haunted look to them due to all the war he has been witness to. He is thin, hard, and muscular.
History:
Raekal was born in a small village in the north of Shienar. While still young, only eight years old, his village was raided. He had a younger sister, Daylen, and while he wanted to go fight with his father and the other village men that got their swords down off of their walls to go defend their homes, his father turned him back with words that would echo forever in Raekal's life. "Watch over your sister, Raekal. From the moment that she was born, she was yours to love, to protect. Stay here with her, and protect her. Never fail her."
So he did, stay in the house. Until finally, his curiousity hammered down duty and he slipped out in the dark of the fallin gnight to go and watch his father fight. His father had been a soldier once, and had skill with a blade. Because of that skill, he was the leader of the village men as they went into battle while their families awaited their return anxiously back home. Raekal, sitting on a small hill overlooking the would-be battlefield, watched his father speak to the men, watched him rally them, empower them with the knowledge that what they were doing was right, and good, and pure.
His father fell in that fight to the black, midnight dark blade. He fell, and the humans facing the hordes of Trollocs scattered. THey were hunted down and slaughtered, and on the Trollocs poured to come into the village. Raekal ran all the way back to his house, warned his mother, and she sent him to the cellar out back under the tree. He went there . . . and was there alone. He didn't dare come out while the sounds of the fight still raged up above, the screams and roars. He spent the night huddled under a basket and crying. When morning finally came, accompanied by silence, he staggered out from his hiding place.
His home was a shell of what it had once been. There simply was not anything left . . . but Shienaran troops were all around now as well, and dead Trollocs were piled in the streets. And . . . . Daylen and his mother . . . they were both alive and well, though Daylen's arm had been seriously injured. Their mother, however, was devastated, forgot about her children, and wandered north to never be heard from again. Raekal took Daylen with him and went south, and a few years later when they got to Tar Valon, there was a group of Whitecloaks that were chasing a group of "Darkfriends" onto the docks while a mutiny was taking place aboard the ship they had just left. Caught in the middle of a sudden battle, Raekal had watched Daylen be carried off by the Children and Aes Sedai had turned their noses up at him. Caught in a sudden rage against the Aes Sedai that hadn't helped and the Whitelcoaks in possession of his sister . . . he had . . . . channeled. Saidin had exploded around him, tearing the dock apart, and then he had been forced to really flee, now chased by Aes Sedai and Children alike.
He had reached the haven of the Black Tower somehow, by the Creator's blessing. He had learned quickly and been promoted quickly, especially after serving loyally in the breaking of the Black Tower. After saving Eldrie's life there, he had been made a Stormleader, and later, when Aran became the M'Hael when Eldrie vanished, he became the First. He has served loyally all throughout all of the Tower's battles and trials, and been one of the first Asha'man into any battlefield where the Black Tower was concerned.
