Referendum on DT2005-065 - The Ammendments Ammendment
As the Constitution states we are required to allow all ammendments to be voted on by all citizens. I therefore give you the text of the Ammendments Ammendment:
____________________________________________
1.1 The current clauses for article 13 are removed 1.2 They are then replaced as:
Quote:1. CALLING A REFERENDUM. The Dáil may call a referendum by majority vote. The President may call a referendum. The citizens may call a referendum with a petition containing the amendment text and the signatures of one-third of the population, rounded up to the nearest whole citizen.
2. RATIFICATION. Constitutional amendments are ratified by two-thirds of the population at referendum, rounded up to the nearest whole citizen, followed by the President's signature. Referenda are held at the nearest general election.
2.1 A new clause 13.3 is added stating the following:
3. PETITIONING. The President may, if petitioned by 45% of the population (a minimum of three citizens), allow for the immediate commencement of a referendum. This is unless the general elections are within the next seven days.
