Registration of new party.
Under the terms of the constitution Edgard Portela and myself wish to register the Free Liberal Party. If approved I would welcome your opening a forum in the political parties section.
The Free Liberal Party supports free enterprise and the encouragement of individual enterprise. We support free trade. The party recognises that both the Gaelic and the English elements are essential to Tomann identity. We support bilingualism and biculturalism.
The TREF was accorded a special status to develop its own unique culture and identity. That experiment has proved a sad failure due to the apathy of people arguing for special status. Special status is accorded only in return for some responsibility to develop it. As that has not happened, the Free Liberals will press for the removal of TREF special status and re-integrating TREF as a normal county of Talamthom.

That would be the Job of the new Interior Minister, Christos Loutradis!

Re: sorry
It is a constitutional requirement and your job now you are a senior government official. It is to allow us to prevent fundamentalism et cetera from being allowed to flourish.
I believe the current system works perfectly well the way it is. If you have any suggestions then of course feel free to raise them in the Dáil.

I'm with Loutradis on that one, especially in light of the freedom of association guaranteed by the constitution. Any rational court would order an injunction against the Home Office for disallowing a party more moderate than an armed militia.

Re: sorry
Either way they would surely have to register with the Interior Ministry anyway.

Re: sorry
I view this as a formality, really.
The Home Office needs to keep a record of all parties, just to avoid confusion. And requiring the submission of a roster/manifesto to the Home Office for approval is the best way to achieve this. Obviously, if the Home Office disallowed a political party it'd better have a damn good reason for it.
On that note, Mr Loutardis, would it be possible to see a 'stuck' topic in this office listing all active political parties? It'd be neat to expand it to include a historical record of past parties, but obviously that requires time and effort and is completely superfluous.

I agree with the idea about the parties. A few old hands like myself and Kevin Gladstone may be able to help with the past parties if you ask nicely.
