Republika Srpska within Serbia
I've been thinking for the past few days, when Republika Srpska finally gains its sovereignty and ultimately joins Serbia should it be recognised as an entity within (ie province like Vojvodina) or a region within (ie Sumadija)

Both have its positives and drawbacks.

Maybe Sar could shed light on the political advantages of RS retaining its governing institutions which would mean (for example) smaller cities of RS forwarding land taxes to Banjaluka and goods and services taxes to Beograd. On the other hand if RS was a region all monies would be forwarded to Beograd, to be allocated by governing bodies there.

Re: Republika Srpska within Serbia
Bob, I personally think that the issue isn't with RS, but with the structure of Serbia itself.

We should first try to unite and centralize as well as we can, and then I support an intelligent Serbian decentrilazation to states (Sumadija, Vojvodina, Niseva, Regions in Bosna, Kosovo i Metohija, Raska-Sandzak, Crna Gora, Stara Srbija/FYROM, etc).

This would be a very well-thought out, a very happy, and a very progressive Serbian state, or at least all the ingredients would be their!:)

“At first we were confused. The East thought that we were West, while the West considered us to be East. Some of us misunderstood our place in the clash of currents, so they cried that we belong to neither side, and others that we belong exclusively to one side or the other. But I tell you, Ireneus, we are doomed by fate to be the East in the West and the West in the East, to acknowledge only heavenly Jerusalem beyond us, and here on earth--no one.”

Zivela Velika SRBIJA!

----------------
Nemanja Kosturica's golden moment:
For instance the bombing of sarajevo was made in a studio in america and showed on cnn, but it did not happen in real life

"The dragon flies Over us, watching
proudly."

Re: Republika Srpska within Serbia
I think it should be an entity. It is culturally and economically different enough from Serbia proper (just like Vojvodina) to deserve that status.

Hi Marko, where would you spot the main cultural differences between Serbia and RS?
