Re: Resigning my Citizenship
I don't know what I am expected to say to be honest. My sentiments are evident by lack of words - make of that what you will.

Well apparently "forever" is defined as a finite period of time, since this is proably the sixth time this year, at least, that Chris has left us "forever"

Perhaps we should compile a league table for serial dropouts. How many times did Vindrus leave us in the end?

Re: Resigning my Citizenship
Twice, though I'm not sure if there was an official loss of citizenship. Same with Chris. Our citizenship policy is a bit murky.
Perhaps a constitutional amendment giving the Dáíl the power to grant citizenship? Every naturalization would be an act of Parliament with an exact date.

Re: Resigning my Citizenship
I'm more in favour of creating proceedures for the Home Office to follow in such matters. If they were rigid enough, they would be effective. Tom's ammendment revoking citizenship if the person in question fails to complete two census' in a row is a good start.

Re: Resigning my Citizenship
Clogging the Dail with administrative formalities is rather daft. I would suggest that a locked thread listing every citizen and the status of their citizenship kept by the home office. LOA's could be recorded plus prolonged inactivity offenders.

Re: Resigning my Citizenship
I feel my inactive party ammendment will deal with the basic issues currently lacking. Dáil intervention is not an option in my opinion!

Re: Resigning my Citizenship
I'd like to draw a line under this thread, and continue this discussion elsewhere.
For the benefit of those new to our fora, Mr Loutradis is no longer considered a citizen of the Poblacht na Tománn, and this office is currently vacant. In my capacity as President of the Republic, I will assume temporary and extremely limited Interior Minister duties until such time as the Prime Minister makes his new appointment known.
