Revelations and Discussions
Raekal smiled slightly, his lips curling as his blue eyes bored into Alexia. He liked the way she reacted--it showed surprise. There was a lot here that the White Tower had not guessed at, and a lot more to see that they would have never thought of. She would be learning a lot, yes, and Raekal was already learning, watching and listening to her and the others. "I made the Tower," he said softly, letting his eyes run over the contours, the smooth flowing curves. "A few helped, of course, but I did the main of it." He smiled inwardly at the lazy jaws of Alexia's companions as they swung down. They would see the Asha'mans' power . . . one way or another.

He turned from the Tower, back to the Legion's camp. "This is a brainchild of Aran's . . . he decided to utilize the men that came to the Tower that we turned away, those that could not learn to channel yet wanted to. We began to raise what we thought would be little more than a homeguard, of sorts. As you can clearly see, it has been a bigger success than we dreamed it would be." They walked through the rows of tents down the road, through another grove of trees, and came out next to a collection of other buildings. "The library, another thing that Aran brought us, is there, by the Gardens." He gestured to the broad expanse of bright colors, fountains and green grass that formed perhaps the most beautiful thing in the Tower. "Barracks for Soldiers are there," he said, pointing to a very busy building. No fewer than a hundred men could be seen around it, some channeling, some merely working. "Some of our Stormleaders believe that physical labor helps the young learn," Raekal said with a smile, nodding toward the forge. Rodgin was there, no doubt, pounding away with his hammer while some poor Soldiers were working the billows.

"Over here we have what has become known as the 'City.' We allow Dedicated to bring their families here, if they so choose to come. If not, they are given roommates to live with. But, as you can tell, many families have come, and the need has grown for ordinary city stuffs. We have our own market here now . . . a lot of men here used to be farmers, and since we can Travel . . . it's not hard for us to bring in things from outside the Walls. Asha'man are given quarters inside the Tower, or stay in the City with their families, and are given rather free rein." Raekal looked around the small group of Aes Sedai. "You will be given rooms in the Tower itself as well. More like home that way, yes?" He asked with a smile, and headed towards the stairway inside.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
The quiet bustling of people in this so called "City" amazed Alexia. In a small way it lightened some of the dread in her heart. It was good to know that the Asha'man still kept a firm grasp on sanity but it also gave her reservations. Were they really ready for this as they think? The taint is still a very prominant problem yet some of the men have their families here. She smiled at a child that passed by and tired to stop worrying. The taint was something she would discuss in length when she got the chance.

She turned her attention back to Raekal at his last comment and would have snorted if she did not think she would be rude. Like home indeed She had the other Aes Sedai preceed her and turned back for a last look wondering what will come of this as she followed the others.

The inside was just as magnificent as the outside to Alexia's atonishment. Most of the materials used on the interior were woven together so beautifull it almost rivalled the White Tower. Alexia frowned at that but again she could not lie to herself. A bit disgruntled over that thought she kept her eyes on Raekal as he lead them through the building.

Brenna peeked around the corner. She had seen Raekal with the Aes Sedai a while back. She knew he knew she was there but he had ignored her as if she was a piece of furniture. She had watched Alexia look around the place and could not help being pride of Raek even if she was still seething at his high-handedness. Right then she gave Alexia a very piercing looking. She would try and get the Aes Sedai on her side to pay back Raekal. It would not be anyhting to drastic but she would make him pay.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Rodgin swore softly under his breath before stepping away from the forge. He had to go look over the legion. He always enjoyed his time at the forge, but it wasn't his responcibility now. Another Asha'man was in charge of the forges. Not that Rodgin was ever denied use of the forges, but it still ate at him to see things done wrong.

"Thank you for the help," he said with a small smile to the Soldier. "Keep up the work, things will get easier."

'Not entierly true' he thought to himself, 'look at you. Nothing is easy now.'

Rodgin shook it off and headed towards the legions camp. He was never a cruel man, but he did enjoy being hard every once in a while. He wondered how Maria was doing in the city. The fact she hadn't run off yet was slightly suprising, but he was still quite happy with it.

"ATTENTION IN THE CAMP," a soldier called out from his guard tower. Rodgin gave him an ugly sneer. His job, at least according to him, was to make the men love Aran. Any soldier who spent enough time with him knew Rodgin wasn't evil or mean, but he looked it to most men.

"DRAW BLADES!," he barked, amplifying it with Saiden as he stepped down one of the lanes, soldiers scurrying to their inspection spots. Blades came out quickly, glinting their highly polished shine and light coats of oil. Rodgin inwardly grinned as he strode down the line of soldiers. This was close to the best army in the history of the world, if not the best. Let the Band say what they may, Rodgin would pit his men against nearly anyone.

"Name," Rodgin asked blandly, grabbing a blade from a soldier. He started his inspection while the young man blubbered his way through his name, squad, and position. A swordman was what he claimed to be, but Rodgin was judging differently by his sword.

"A swordman with a rusted blade?" Rodgin started, his voice more threatening then questioning. "How long have you been here?"

"Almost a month Stormleader," the man stammered, the fear in his eyes apparent.

"And who do you report to?" The man stammered on his tongue so Rodgin went past him. "WHO DOES THIS MAN REPORT TO!?"

"Me sir," a voice said as an average looking man stepped forward.

"And why does this man have a rusted blade?"

"Because things.."

"BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T MAKE SURE HE TOOK CARE OF IT," Rodgin exploded. "What makes you think you have the right to lead anyone when you're own men are carrying rosty blades!"

Rodgin tossed the rusted blade up in the air and drew his own blade. A quick move sliced the poor leader's blade before he cut the rusted blade in half.

"Now you can remedy this problem, and I recomend you do it soon," Rodgin said softly before heading off to finish his inspections.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Raekal walked down the hallway, leading the Aes Sedai along. He came to one room that had been previously prepped, and he opened the door. "You will have to sit two to a room. I hope this does not bother you, but at the moment, the Tower is almost full." He smiled and pointed across the hallway. "Your other room is right there. The doors are currently unlocked, but you will find keys inside so that you can lock them. Of course, we do ask that you refrain from using saidar to lock your rooms. I have given my word that no harm will come to you. None. Do keep in mind, however, that you are surrounded by Asha'man, and we know when you are channeling. If someone feels threatened, I cannot be held responsible for their actions." He bowed in turn to each Aes Sedai. "I will leave you to get settled. I will return shortly, I wish to speak with some of you personally." He smiled and headed off.

As soon as he was around the corner, the smile slid off of his face and was replaced by a hard scowl. He could feel Brenna nearby, and the mischevious drift her thoughts were taking. He opened the bond, let her feel his rolling anger, and then replaced it with a very clear, very powerful thought. COME TO ME NOW!

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Shock and anger vibrated through Brenna's body as she tried to resist the summons the bond sent her. Her brain would not listen to her though even though she tried to keep herself where she was. It's did not work and her body took her to where she sensed Raekal was.

Disbelief over the way he summoned her faded quickly as she become more enraged. How dare he do this? As if I was some dog! Although she would not change the fact the were bonded she would never forgive the way he was using it now. Striding down the corridor she tried to get a hold of herself. For days now she had been practicing how to tie off the bond. Her feelings had been so erractic the past few weeks she had wanted to spare him. At the moment she was not thinking of him. Sure she ahd the hang of it she tied it off before she caught sight of Raek. Today, for the first time since she was bonded to him, she did not want him to know how she felt.

When she was standing not a short distance away from him she waited for him to acknowledge her. With a beligerent look on her face she waited for whatever it was he felt he needed to say. After he was done she would not speak to him one bit. Her playful prank was not going to happen. After today she would have to make other plans.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Rodgin made his way back into the Tower frustrated by the way his inspection had gone. The Legion was getting too big. The City wouldn't be able to support them like this for much longer. They were going to have to start turning people away soon.

Making his way up the tower he passed the rooms that had been set aside for their guests. Rodgin smiled to himself before knocking on one of the doors. He figured it would be wise for a good host to check on his guests.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Alexia yawned slightly as she and Ghanima looked around there room. It was comfortable for two people but she was not overly excited about her roommate. The Brown frowned at her half of the room. She started to mutter to herself then walked over to the bed and tested it. Alexia rolled her eyes and started to walk over to her own bed when she heard the knock.

Ghanima hurried over to the door her face a mask of stodginess and opened the door. The Asha'man standing there looked surprised to see the Brown and Alexia hid a smile. "Rodgin if I remember correctly?" The man gave her an impassive look and Alexia asked him in. Ghanima gave Alexia questioning look and she shrugged at her sister. She had no idea why the boy was there and she did not intend to ask. She was tired of the hostililty and if she was nice to him he would be nice to her. It was a start to having a better understanding of the Asha'man and them having an unbiased understanding of Aes Sedai.

Offering him a chair as he walked in Ghanima went to her bed and sat on the edge of it giving the poor man a glare. Alexia gave her a harsh look then again smiled at Rodgin. "Have you heard from Mariea?" Alexia had to know about Yasha other siblings, she had not had a chance to send them any sort of news and she planned on doing so as soon as she could. Now that she did not have Yasha watching her every move when she came near any sort of parchment. The silly woman did not want her family to know she was well. But she did not forbid her from telling them she just said she did not want to see her writing them while she was around. Hopefully Rodgin would be able to tell her where they were.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Rodgin was suddenly very much on edge. He had seen Alexia in Tear and was sure she was safe to talk to, but the fact that she knew that he knew Mareia was enough to make him very wary. Perhaps it had been a mistake to stop by.

"I have," Rodgin said, rather guardedly. "I'm not sure that it has anything to do with you needing anything, but I have."

Rodgin shot a quick glance at the lady with a Brown fringed shawl on. She looked like a caged animal. If he was forced to go to the white tower, he would probably feel the same way.

"I heard The First showed you the grounds," Rodgin continued, anxious to put the subject of Mareia behind him. "If there is anythign you need or would like to see, I would gladly get them for you or show you around."

He sat in his chair a moment, sizing up the situation. He could shield them both if he had to. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would be enough.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Alexia sighed and did not try to hide her exasperation. Trying to be nice to Asha'man was going to prove to be hard.. very hard. Rodgin's need to put his guard up about Mariea was sweet if a bit unneccesary.

"Well when you are able to contact her again plus tell her that i have some important news I need to tell her and I would write to her as soon as I know her whereabouts." Tired suddenly and wanting more then to lie down Alexia walked over to her bed only to pause. "You know Master Rodgin that small tour of the grounds would be nice. Ghanima would you be interested in going?" The Brown sat upright and nodded. She looked as if she would like to take a nap also but she knew it was best if they stuck together when out of their rooms.

"I think I would like to see everything," Rodgin's eyebrow rose and she shrugged, "Or I guess everything I am allowed to see would be best."

Re: Revelations and Discussions
"Very well ladies," Rodgin said holding the door open for them in a show of Shienarien chivalry, "I'll be happy to show you around the Tower. Perhaps you even have something you care to buy from the city to make your stay more comfortable."

Rodgin led them down and out of the Tower and out across the grounds. His black coat was imaculate and if it weren't for the fact he was a man, some might have mistaken him for an Aes Sedai he was so unflustered and calm. He was going to take them to the forges first. It was his domain and he couldn't be flustered there.

"This is the practice area," he said calmly, gesturing to the grounds. "We practice for any type of battle we may need to. As you can see, everyone is responsible to repair any damages they may cause during training."

To Rodgin, the grounds looked like rough water that had been pulled flat, or at least tried to. The clanking of hammers on steel got louder and closer and then they were there. The forges had been stuck out in a grove to help reduce the noise everywhere else.

"And here are the forges. We produce the majority of our own steel item here. There isn't much we go outside to find."

Rodgin had a great idea suddenly. He would have to get back here later. He felt that Mariea would enjoy a new locket. Perhaps something of a reminder of how this all got started.

"What would you like to see next?"

Raekal stared at Brenna for a long moment. She was learning her own control over the bond, and while he didn't mind that fact, it irratated him that she would dare be offended--OFFENDED--at this moment. He let the tension in the room build, both of them staring at one another, before he let saidin flood into him. Thigns around the room began lifting and spinning around the room. "You see this?" he gestured to the miniature cyclone in the room that tugged at their clothes and set their hair to whipping about. "This is my heart right now. You set it ablaze, with the fires of love . . . and anger. You're plotting something. Something to do with the Aes Sedai. You will not--will NOT--interfere. The Tower is trying to create something that has not been made before. I will not have your petty views ruining that." He knew she was mad. Furious, really. But he was mad as well, and he was not about to back down. Both had crossed lines better left untouched and unthought about."So you have anything to say, or are you going to stand there like a pole?"

Brenna shrugged and looked somewhere beyond his shoulder. She dared not look him straight in the eye or she might reveal the exact kind of feelings she was trying to hide from him. It was better he thought she was just angry. He blocked her out when it was right for him and gave not one damn about how she felt about it. She knew how he felt about her but if he trusted her he would not cut her cold when important things were happening.

She glance at his face to see that he was still waiting for somethign so she broke her silence. "Fine do as you wish Raekal." And then she waited to be dismissed in the same way she was summoned. Like a dog on short leash. It was how she felt and it would not go away as quickly as that. tired of tying of the bond she let it go and let him feel what she was feeling hoping anger was more pronounced then the hurt.

Raekal stared at Brenna for a long moment. He loved and hated her at the same moment, wanted to be with her forever and wanted her to be far from him all at the same time. He couldn't bear to have her this near, and yet wanted to hold her.The conflicting emotions ran through him, wearing at his mind, and he closed his eyes for a moment, recentering himself, allowing his mind to clear and the void to form. He realized that saidin had left him, and that his miniature storm had collapsed around them, and he looked at the ground sheepishly. He felt like a spoiled child that had thrown a tantrum and just now understood how foolish it was. He felt her hurt, her anger, her . . . curiousity. He was acting strangely, and he knew it. He didn't like it, neither did she. He wanted to be himself, and yet he couldn't find himself. He opened his mouth to speak, and yet no words came forth for a long moment. He stepped back behind his desk, feeling his legs threatening to give out beneath him, and flopped into his chair, staring at the desktop. "Too much to do, so much to worry about," he whispered. He hung his heads in his hands, not looking up at her, ashamed to see her face right then. "You . . . you can go . . . I . . ." he didn't finish. He couldn't.

Re: Revelations and Discussions
A chill was in the air and Brenna felt a bit panicked. Raekal as not acting himself and she was so suddenly confused that she knew the emotion was coming from not her. Not really sure how it happened she was at his side taking his hands in hers, willing him through the bond to look at her. One minute he was a bit shakey the next she felt a revoltion so strong she wanted to step away. "Raekal," Her hands cupped his face and finally his eyes seemed to meet hers. Something was wrong and she could feel it and she did not like it at all. Anger rose swiftly and she had to mentally shake it off. The seemed to be smothering something within her then it was all light and sweetness.

The swift change in moods lasted only seconds but Brenna thought it lasted for hours. when it stopped and Raekal seemed to be himself again she felt like she would break down. "How long has this been going on? How long have you tried to shut this out between us? Is this why you have been so damn secretive rushing out to one stupid battle after another with Saker?"

Raekla blinked back the rushing tide of emotions, staring back into her eyes. He could remember all too clearly the recent events, but that didn't change the fact . . . the fact . . . he had treated everyone around him badly. Another of his set of mood swings. They were getting more and more frequent. he looked away from her, his eyes flickering towards the open window. He longed to be outside suddenly, away from the confining atmosphere of his office.

"Walk with me," he said, and lead the way out. They walked down towards the gardens, and just the sound of the birds in the air, the water in the gardens trickling, the distant clash of training soldiers . . .

He sat under the broad limbs of a green leafy tree and pulled Brenna down to sit before him. "I . . . I have moods sometimes, yes. I've hidden them from you because I didn't want you to worry, and sometimes the only way to hide them from you is to get away from you. I'm . . . I'm sorry."

Re: Revelations and Discussions
Something seemed to just explode in her brain when Raek apologized because suddenly all Brenna wanted to do was hurt him. He was sorry? Just sorry? A low growl came from her and her hands clinched into fists. She shook with anger at his constant need to keep things from her. This of all things he should have come to her with. Why was it so easy for him to push her away?

Even though she wanted to get up and just leave she couldn't. She felt his confusion and it kept her sitting under the tree. Reaching out for his hand she squeezed it then brought it to her face. "I am still upset with you but I won't let you go through this alone. Not matter how much you push me away." And just like that she was fine again. she was still angry but some weight seemed to be lifted and she believed some of that was from Raekal.
