Rise of the Nations
I want to start this post not to form new alter egos, but to serve as a thinktank if you would, to brainstorm a concept.

I have always loved deep story roleplay. When I played paper and pencil gamemaster I would love to create complex worlds and people to polulate them, and these would come to life sometimes when I drove around from place to place, then wait in ambush for the players to find them in our weekly game.

I wondered if, with all the great storytellers we have here in P:R, we couldn't create such a thing and then perhaps, once it's rich enough, some would like to take a hand to it and make it live?

Here's my starting proposition, in lieu of a guideline. Suppose the indian nations got together in council and decided to set themselves a task to rid the world of an evil.

How did they come about to this point? I wonder if it's possible to make it varied, depending on nation. Some may have been given the task through spirit walking. Some may be involved in the scientific approach. Some may be politically motivated, as it affects the leadership of the nations- the time of change is upon them.

Who is this evil? Maybe the nations see something the heroes of Paragon haven't seen yet. Maybe with their deep ties to the land, they see the hand that moves the petty criminals as pawns. So they set themselves against the pawns as they work their way up to the master.

There are great concepts that could be turned into heroes. Wise Coyote, Trickster Raven, Wolf, Bear, Eagle, Cloud, Wind, the list goes on. Even as I speak these names I can almost see the costumes forming.

Could be done as a very slow progressing roleplay group, deep in the interactions between people of each nation. This would be a great opportunity to study an indian nation in depth, as characters are fleshed out.

Enough from me.. anybody else find the idea intriguing?

Re: Rise of the Nations
Interesting Easy. I also am a fan of deep interlocking role play. Most of what I have been doing during my "off PR" time has been developing characters and organizations to use later for PR events and such. The elusive SPBI started out that way and has managed to entangle itself nicely into PR and Red Spear affairs.

Not sure of what you are suggesting though. Are you suggesting starting a framework for a group/organization for people to build upon to use in conjunction with PR role Play? Sort of like Red Spear? Or as more theorectical like Irons? Or more like the backstory/history of Paragon to flesh out the world?

Re: Rise of the Nations
It could well develop, down the line, into another alts subplot withing P:R if enough people want to get involved. What I was hoping to see from people who like the idea is to have them flesh it out here, define it sort of, set the background.

Which nations, why, what's the motivation for it, who started the idea, at what level of togethernes and socio-poilitical development is the Council of Nations in Paragon's timeline. Is there instead a secret Council of Nations, and underground political structure while the public Council is a show. Why are they taking this step. What's the motivations.

From the general to the specific. Mm.. maybe I'm just being obtuse. I'm at work, and the dreamworld is just intruding. I may be able to state it more clearly after I think it through a day, but feel free to jabber in here if you have any ideas.

If you have a character concept you like, sure, place that here too and flesh it out the basics- why, from where, motivation.

I'm wondering if the addition of the Central and Southern American indian nations wouldn't be a neat thing as well. Arauca, Maya, Inca, Carib, Siboney, Guarani...
