SW References in Everyday Life?
No, I'm not talking about being able to apply movie quotes in almost any situation, although that's also highly amusing.
In my Lit class today we were discussing themes and archetypes in the novel we're going to be studying, and the professor brought up the archetype of the Shadow Self, blah blah blah, how a character deals with the presence of their Shadow Self (who but for different choices would be the character themself) is indicative of how they're going to fare in life. And by some sort of freak chance, the example he used to illustrate this point was Luke dealing with his relationship to Darth Vader. I very nearly died from the giggles, and it was torture trying to restrain myself from making Vader breath noises.
So has something like this ever happened to anyone else? it freaks me out and gives me a laugh whenever non-fandom type folks make serious references to SW. ^_^
