Sadness, and Exciting New Drinks.
So, the little pub the First Lady work(ed) at has now closed. The landlord (a good friend of mine called Kev) just wasn't making any money from it, and was forced to move on or declare bankrupcy.
However, this did result in several nights of intense celebration, and a final pub quiz (which I won). As the drinks started to dry up, I discovered the following drink:
1 pint Guinness, minus about an inch (drink this).
1 50cc shot of Kahula
Submarine into the remains of the Guinness. Enjoy.
And I invented the following drinks, which are perhaps slightly less Tománn...
The Crazy Russian:
Essentially, a White Russian with a shot of Banana Liqueur. Tastes like a banana milkshake with booze in it.
The Green Russian:
As above, but with Creme de Menthe. Mmm.
So I'm now looking for a new place to drink. Which is a shame, because it'll invariably be less fun and less convenient for me on my way home from work. ;-)

Heh, man I don't even want to speculate how much money I've spent in the Victoria. Kev said the brewery that owned the place was choking him with overpriced kegs and spirits. And the nature of his lease meant he couldn't shop around...
Such is life, I guess.
Alex, there's nothing wrong with Tománn Stout. Puts hair on your chest.
