Re: Serious question: regarding serbian wars
Oh for christs sake.

The Serbian Kingdom started in 1882. We won the First and second Balkan wars and we held out in WWI for two years against the Austrians. We also defeated them in a trade dispute.

Since I doubt you know Serbian history at all, I am assuming you are talking about Serbia's entire history.

1. Croatia was absorbed into both the Ottoman Austrian empires. Serbia has been independent for quite a bit longer than Croatia has.

2. Before the filthy Ottomans came, Serbia had a huge empire. Even before Dusan, Serbs had a pretty huge state. During the age of pre-Ottoman medieval Serbia (which was in fact our Golden Age) we stopped the expansion of the first Bulgarian Empire (Boris I)

Quote:
Boris I was the son and successor of Presian I of Bulgaria. At the time of his accession, Boris was engaged in a campaign in Macedonia, and Bulgaria was invaded by the East Franks, who defeated Boris and his Slavic allies in 853. Peace was restored in that quarter by 855, and Boris turned his attention to the tension along the Bulgaro-Byzantine frontier, placing an ultimatum before the imperial government at Constantinople. The crisis was averted, and Boris made an alliance with the King Louis the German of the East Franks against Prince Rastislav of Great Moravia and the ruler of Croatia. The allies achieved some success in 863, but Boris suffered a defeat during his invasion of Serbia at an unspecified point in his reign. In the end the Bulgarian monarch had to conclude peace treaties with both Serbians and Croatians. In spite of various reverses, Boris succeeded in maintaining the territorial integrity of his realm.

Also, it was the Serbian efforts that halted Bulgarian expansion to the west during the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire.

We have beat the Turks numerous times (ever heard of the Seige of Belgrade). Just research the two Serbian uprisings and you will find that all of the major battles were won by Serbian forces.

Considering we have only fought one war with Albanians (and that was in Kosovo) and the fact that the UCK were weak and if outside interference (US engagement of Serbian troops, their huge military and logistical support of the UCK) wasn't prevalent, they would have fallen within two weeks tops.

Croatia has had two conflicts with Serbs. The first wasn't even a war. Rather it was outright genocide. The second can hardly be called a huge Croatian victory considering the following:

1. Croatia had the full support of the UN and Nato military forces in Croatia. They helped you by giving you huge logistical information, modern war equipment, and they carried out air strikes on Serbian forces and actively engaged the RSK. We had a massive disadvantage.

2. Just look at the statistics (of Operation Storm, supposedly a great Croatian victory) . While you Croats had 150,000 men we had a mere 40,000. You actually had aircraft at your disposal, more than twice as many tanks, and superior weaponry (thanks to the huge military aid you received from the US).

3. In order to defeat Serbian forces Croatia had to draft every 1 in 2 Croats in that region simply to quel a rebellion.

4. Many of the original JNA soldiers were all drafted and many weren't even Serbian. Thus, desertion rates were high and moral was generally low among the soldiers of VRSK.

Re: Serious question: regarding serbian wars
Well since you say storm isnt a great victory.
Its a greater victory then you had.
Look at all the "Serbian Operations".
around 100,000 to 150,000 Men for operation corridor.
And 51 tanks on Posavina alone.
30 planes?
Against what.
A newly formed territorial defence with WWII weapons.
And you were still stopped in Tuzla and Gradacac.

Not to mention sarajevo.
Look at the army you had there.
We had 34,000 guns for 50,000 soldiers.
How many tanks? artillery pieces?

And what about Bihac.

It was the VRSK+JNA+VRS against the 5th Korps and a HVO mostly artillery division.
Honestly.

You guys lost at Kosovo.
And it took you two uprisings to create a small state.
It took Gradascevic a few Months to Liberate all of BIH,Serbia and he even entered Sofia.
He won all victories except for Sarajevo.
Which he would have won if it wasnt for Hercegovinian Nobility which betrayed him.

It was 30,000 poorly armed peasants,Jannisaries and sipahis.
Against an army of probably 50,000 or 70,000 of the Grand Viziers best troops and Cannons.

what serbia took in that time croatia took back in a few days..... that was a great operation regardless what way you look at it.

Croatia took it back in a few days because the military was withdrawn :rolleyes Had the will been there to fight and Milosevic did not pull back the support i think it would have been a very different story.

No, your not asking what they have won - that was already answered. It seems your tag serves you well. Your looking for an argument because you have your answer and for someone who really "wants to know" your not willing to accept the answer given. Nice try instigator :lol

Nikola of Montenegro (1912)

HE speaks as straight as his rifles shot,
As straight as a thrusting blade,
Waiting the deed that shall trouble the truce
His savage guns have made.

"You have dared the wrath of a dozen states,"
Was the challenge that he heard;
"We can die but once!" said the grim old King
As he gripped his mountain sword.

"For I paid in blood for the town I took,
The blood of my brave men slain,--
And if you covet the town I took
You must buy it with blood again!"

Stern old King of the stark, black hills,
Where the lean, fierce eagles breed,
Your speech rings true as your good sword rings--
And you are a king indeed!

All off-topic, insults, provocations and pointless posts have been removed. I trust those people that replied to tiprats provocations to edit out their posts voluntarely and not allow others the satisfaction to provoke and to insult on this forum.

Let the real discussion start. If this thread ends up going out of hands again then it will be transfered to the Propaganda+Politics Provocative forum of Serbia.

Re: Serious question: regarding serbian wars
Tiprat, being Yugoslav and Croatian or Serb etc, is not mutually exclusive. The old Yugoslav passport was testemant to that. In it it stated your ethnicity, it didn't surpress it.

Not me. Haven't used the delete button a single time yet.

Does Aadmin have some way of tracking that?

If so, by all means ask him. In fact... I'll put it out right now... if I have deleted or edit a single post (so far) remove me as a moderator already.

Re: Serious question: regarding serbian wars
You scratch my back i scratch yours. This is how the world works Sar. :b

I am also generally against deleting and banning people because of their views... i.e Shpata. That was a mistake from Canaris. Not really a mistake considering he doesnt think with his head but with his emotions. :lol

As long as somebody doesnt insult i am fine with them. We are here afterall to converse!!!

Re: Serious question: regarding serbian wars
Well, actually I disagree with you about Shpata.

I don't think anyone should be banned (unless they do crazy stuff like the clown that deleted post after post).

However, if you are a mod or a senior mod I think you have an obligation to behave a certain way. Shpata went WAY over the top.

Not only did he delete everything Suart wrote, but he would add stuff to his posts, making fun of this religious background and beliefs. That is not cool considering at the time he was a SM. To me, it was the second worst violation I've ever seen here.

The worst, goes without saying and it went unpunished, which is rather shocking.
