Simon Says: LOSE WEIGHT!!

SISTAS, :sista3 :sista2 :sista1 we have to learn that we have to stick with this lifestyle of eating.

Are we all familiar with the game "Simon Says"? You know... Simon says "touch your nose", Simon Says bend over and touch your toes", etc. :wave

Sometimes to be successful, we must listen and copy. Do you feel that's a fair assumption? I thought it was. As adults, we learn things from other adults. If your Mom makes a great turkey - you watch how she does it and you learn from it. We can also apply this to our weight loss efforts!

What are some "TIPS" for staying OP? What worked for you this week? Some responses might be

~ Water (making sure you get your 8 cups in a day)
~ Exercise (this came from many who never exercised before)
~ Planning ahead (2-3 days in advance)
~ Journaling (this one seemed to be VERY popular)
~ Keeping a schedule (when they were going to eat and sticking with it)
~ Eating healthy foods

What are some challenges to weight loss? Responses might include:

~ Portion control
~ Evening snacking
~ Hungry
~ Unable to control food choices at meeting lunches, hotel conferences
~ Being alone

Here are some tips to overcome those challenges.

Portion Control
~ Use a scale and measuring tools
~ Buy individual containers or serving sizes instead of the big tubs or family size. This way you'll only eat what's in the serving size instead of over indulging in the other

Evening Snacking
~ Plan ahead - have points available to have something at night
~ Count out or measure your snack "before" you bring it to the couch. Don't bring anymore with you
~ Start a new hobby to do while watching t.v. (one lady took up rug-hooking) to replace snacking at the table and has lost 50 lbs.

Hungry
~ Add and eat some 0-point veggies
~ Drink water - sometimes we're more often thirsty but mistake it for hunger
~ Wait 20 minutes and see if the hunger subsides
~ Get some sleep.... sometimes we just need some sleep!

I strongly believe that journaling is KEY. It's when I stop doing that - that I'm in trouble. I really liked the idea of finding something else to do while in front of the t.v. other than snacking.

Winning starts at the beginning..... and beginning starts with a single action!
