Spell/Ritual Outline
This is one of my own, you can of course tailor it to suit
General Outline to Spell or Ritual Construction
Clearly understand and define your magickal need. Organize the ritual and write it out on paper or in your book of shadows, and look it over several times. You will get a kind of sense of KNOWING when it is perfect (I call it my tingle hehehe) try not to stress on it over much.
Gather together all the items you will need for your spell, such as candles, incense, herbs, gemstones, etc., and empower these items with your intent using your mind's energy. Bear in mind that some items work better for certain speels then others (You may bring a rose quartz in for a Love Call, but not for a money blessing)
Decide on your incantation, and create an appropriate chant if you desire. It is helpful to memorize these, reciting it naturally, will help you to avoid interrupting the flow of energy . Keeping the chant short simple and sweetly to the point is generally the best route..
If you will be invoking a particular diety, decide on who and write out and memorize any special prayers and invocations that you will use. I would definatly refrain from invoking opposite dieties in one ritual, as well as researching the diety you plan to call to insure your not simply wasting your time and energy (I know a person who honestly, truly called on Artemis/Diana during a love call and was disappointed when she felt the outcome had failed... now why would you do this? *sigh*)
Plan how you will visualize your goal in your mind's eye. Try not to be greedy, if its a prosperity spell, use the law of nature and ask for only what you NEED to survive versus what you may think you want. Visulizing a bank statement with just enough increase to giive you what you need is one way.
Decide when and where you will work your spell, keeping in mind moon signs, phases, and such. Some spells are simply easier woven out of doors.
You may or may not feel the need for special attire....this is entirely your call....personally I love to cast Sky clad, I feel entirely at one and therefore my most comfortable. when this is not possible, soft light linen or breathable cotton works nearly as well...this is of course my opinion
At the appropriate time, gather what you will use and go to the place where you will perform the spell.
Cast your circle, or create your sacred space, or cleanse and seal standing sacred space. Call the quarters if you like.
Invite whatever elementals, faeries, spirits, or dieties you wish to have present as you work.
Clear your mind and begin visualizing your goal.
Raise energy within yourself and "pour" it into your magickal objects.
Use your words of power, light your candles, charge your stones, dance, or sing. Do whatever you have decided to do to focus your attention and raise energy. If tapping a drum raises your cone of power, by all means do so. a cd player playing "mood music" can also be a healthy witches tool, though personally i do not bring it into my circle.
When you feel that you have put as much energy into your spell as you possibly can, send the energy out to do your will. Relax, throw up your arms, raise a tool, kneel, Blow the open palms of your hand as if blowing dandilion seeds or do whatever else makes you feel the energy being sent.
Finish your spell with words such as "So mote it be" or "As I will, so it shall be". It is a statement of completion and an affirmation that you know your magick is to be successful. A verbal show of faith in your own natural power.
When you are ready, close your circle and thank the spirits who have been with you to help. Offer gifts of thanks.
Ground your energy -- see it dissipate and return to the earth.
If you wish, Record your ritual in your Book of Shadows. Try to keep a seperate book for rituals/ correspondances you feel did not work well for you. This will remind and keep you from wasting your time in the future (learning from misjudgements and mistakes if you will)
