*Spoilers* The identity of the HBP... were you surprised?
I was very surprised!! If I were to make a list of every single character ever introduced in the book, in order of the likelihood that they'd be the HBP, he would have been very near the bottom!!
But then again, I thought the HBP would be someone noble who wanted to help Harry (before I read the book, that is)...

What surprised me even more is that this person is not actually a prince persay as in royal, but that it is a surname.

I was surprised. I too was thinking more royalty type prince. Maybe cause the book is set in Great Britain which has princes.

yeah i was suprised! i mean SNAPE?
i kindof realized he would be bad tho after the second chapter when he made the vow to malfloys mother......and later i figured out what malfloys "mission" was lol
but snape beling the half blood prince was a complete suprize!

I was surprised. Before I got the book, I suspected a royal prince, too.
I did consider that it might be Snape when Harry first got the book. I changed my mind, tho, when he figured out that the book was 50 yrs old! Then I wondered about Moaning Myrtle.

I was surprised. I didn't think of Snape before reading. While I was reading, I didn't catch it because I try to read so fast that I won't make preditions...

Yes. I was surprised. We had it figured out the first time Harry used Snape's notes in the textbook that it was definitely Snape.
But we were VERY shocked that Snape was the guy. Very nice turn on Rowling's part.
