TEARS FOR A FRIEND
Hi There!

Just wondering if anyone could give me any advice.

I had my first child this year and was delighted when my close friend told me she was pregnant in June as she had wanted a baby so much for so long she couldn't have been happier.

Unfortunately she miscarried about eight weeks into the pregnancy just after her wedding. She has not been in contact since and will not return any calls or messages that I have left for her and although I dont want to pressure her I am extremely worried as I know how hard all this will have hit her.

Because I have never been through this myself I have no idea whether it is better to leave her alone to grieve and wait until she contacts me or to keep calling until she speaks to me.

I dont want to be a nuicance, but I dont want her to think that I dont care either!

I feel so sad for her :( what should I do?

HOPE

Unfortunately, she may feel unable to face you because of your baby. I would say it is good to keep leaving or sending messages, just so she knows you are there for her. When you do manage to get together, at least at first, you should probalby go alone. I am sure she doesn't begrudge you your child, but it is often hard to be around babies for a time after you have had a loss.

Just be as gentle and caring as you can. It is good for her to know you are there if she needs you.
