Teas with a purpose
Tea for Divination
1 tbsp China black, or English or Irish breakfast tea
2 tsp lemon balm
1 tsp eyebright
1 tbsp mugwort
1 tbsp rose hips
**************************
Tea for Psychic Healing (Moura)
1 tbsp China black
1 tsp elder flower
1 tsp nettle
2 tsp burdock root
2 tsp mullein
2 tsp rose hips
************************
Tea for Meditation
1 tbsp China black or English breakfast tea
2 tsp chamomile
1 tsp rose hips
2 tsp elder flower
**********************
This one isn't really meant to be a tea but might be of interest:
Clairvoyance Brew
3 parts Rose petals
1 part Cinnamon
1 part Nutmeg
1 part Bay
1 part Mugwort
Place in teapot, fill with boiling water, let steep, covered, for a few minutes. Remove cover, sniff steam (not so that you burn your nose) for a few moments, visualize the mystic scent opening your psychic awareness, then lie down and prophesize. If you wish, drink a bit of the brew as well, and let the steam continue to rise as you stretch your psychic awareness.
**************************
Dream Tea
2 parts Rose petals
1 part Mugwort
1 part Peppermint
1 part Jasmine flowers
1/2 part Cinnamon
Mix, add one teaspoon to a cup. Pour boiling water over this and let steep, covered, for a few minutes. Drink before going to bed to produce psychic dreams.
**************************
Psychic Tea
3 parts Rose petals
2 parts Yarrow
1 part Cinnamon
Brew, strain and drink a cup before or during divination and psychic work to enhance your psychic awareness.
A Tea to Relax You
1/4 teaspoon valerian root
1/2 teaspoon passion flower
1/2 teaspoon chamomile
1/2 teaspoon vervain
Pour boiling water over herbal mixture, and steep for 3-5 minutes.
Add honey if desired. Sip, and enjoy
A Nice Tea for a Cold
1 teaspoon yarrow
1 teaspoon valerian root
1 teaspoon birch leaf
Pour boiling water over herb mixture, and steep for 10-15 minutes, covered.
Sip the tea, slowly, and allow it time to work.
Warning: Valerian root tends to smell like nasty forgotten gym socks.
Maybe this isn't the tea to use for steam to help your sinuses.
A Good Tea if You Have a Cold
Mix together:
1 teaspoon wintergreen
1 teaspoon lemon verbena
Pour one cup boiling water over the herb mixture, and steep for 3 minutes. Strain, and sip, making sure to keep the steam up by your nose, to moisturize and clear the sinuses
An Invigorating Tea
Mix together:
1/2 teaspoon rose hips
1/2 teaspoon peppermint
1/2 teaspoon hibiscus
Pour 1 cup boiling water over herb mixture, and steep for 3 minutes. Strain, and drink.
A Tea to Aid Sleep
Mix together:
4 clusters, or 2 Tablespoons hops
1 teaspoon lavender
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon mugwort
1 teaspoon sage
1 Tablespoon chamomile
1 Tablespoon Wintergreen
1 pinch Valerian Root
...and mix well. Take 1 teaspoon of the mixture,
pour 1-cup boiling water over it, and steep for 3-5 minutes.
Strain, and allow to cool slightly before drinking.
Store remaining mixture in a well-sealed container.
Makes approximately 9 cups of relaxation
A Nice Relaxing Tea
Mix together:
1/4 teaspoon lavender
1/2-teaspoon lemon balm leaves
1/2-teaspoon linden flowers
1/2 teaspoon chamomile
Pour slightly more than one-cup boiling water over the herb mixture and steep for 3 minutes. Strain, sip, and enjoy.

Re: Teas with a purpose
Equal parts of all except the eucalyptus. You only want a pinch of that, compared to the amount of the other ingredients. Its primary purpose is just to get those sinuses open, but too much, and PHEW-we're talking STRONG,folks.

Love tea spell
Love Tea Spell
A love tea spell can be made on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday during a waxing moon.
You Will Need:
3 candles (red, pink, and green)
4 caraway seeds
4 fennel seeds
1 tea bag
3 rose hips
5 edible rose petals.
If you cannot get rose petals, buy rose water or dried roses from a herbal shop.
(Be sure that the roses have not been sprayed with pesticides and are safe for brewing into a tea).
Light the candles and place them on the stove near the teapot. Bring two cups of springwater to a slow simmer. Add the other ingredients with the tea. As the love tea is steeping, pass your hands over the steam three times, and concentrate on the feelings of love. Pour a cup and sit in a cheerful place. If you have a photo of an intended lover, place it where you can see it as you drink the tea. Recite this spell:
"I lift this cup to my lips,
I drink it slow with tiny sips,
Rose, tea, caraway,
And fennel cause love to stay."

gypsy witch love brew
Gypsy-Witch Love
1 teaspoon dried and crushed basil
1 teaspoon dried fennel
1 teaspoon dried European vervain
3 pinches ground nutmeg
1/4 cup red wine
Place all the ingredients into a cauldron. Mix together well, and then place the cauldron over a fire. Light a pink candle which has been anointed with rose oil, and say:
CANDLE LIGHT, WARM AND BRIGHT,
IGNITE THE FLAMES OF LOVE TONIGHT.
LET MY SOUL MATE'S LOVE BURN STRONG FOR ME,
THIS IS MY WILL, SO MOTE IT BE!
After the love potion boils for 3 minutes, remove the cauldron from the fire and allow it to cool. Strain the cooled liquid through a clean cheesecloth into a cup. Add a bit of honey to sweeten the potion, and then drink it.
If you desire love from a certain man or woman, concentrate upon him or her as you prepare the brew. Drink half of the potion, and then give the other half of it to your beloved to drink as soon as possible. If he or she is karmically correct for you, the spark of love will be instantly ignited.
Best prepared on a Friday, any night of the waxing moon, whenever the moon is in the Venus-ruled signs of Taurus or Libra, or on Saint Valentine's Day.

Re: Teas with a purpose
HERBAL TEAS
Chamomile - A mild sedative, it is said to aid digestion adn relieve menstral cramps. Also believed to help colicy babies. Small amounts of pollen residue in the tea may cause dermatitis or toher allergic symptoms in people sensitive to ragweed, chrysanthemums, and other members of the daisy family.
Dandelion - Tea made from this common weed is mildly diuretic. Some women use it to reduce problems of premenstral bloating.
Elder Flower - Extracts of elder are sometimes used in over-the-counter cold remedies, and elder flower tea may alleviate cold and flu symptoms. The flowers and ripe berries of the elder are safe, but avoid the roots, stems and leaves. The tea is a mild stimulant.
Fennel - With a flavor similar to licorice, fennel tea is used to sooth an upset stomach. Traditional herbalists often recommend it as an appetite suppressant and slimming aid.
Lavendar Flower - Tea brewed from dried lavender flowers ais said to be mildly sedative.
Lemon Balm - This minty tea may help soothe jittery nerves.
Nettle - Made from the same plant that causes stinging skin irritation, nettle tea is rich in Vitamin C and several minerals. Herbalists recommend it to treat arthritis and gout and to increase milk production in nursing mothers.
Peppermint - Tea from this mint plant is refreshing and may stimulate digestion. It should be avoided by anyone with a Hiatal Hernia, because peppermint promotes reflux of the stomach contents into the esophagus.
Raspberry Leaf - Herbalists recomment raspberry tea to ease discomfort from menstral cramps.
Rose Hip - Rich in Vitamin C, rose hip tea can substitute for orange juice when citrus fruits are not readily available.
Rosemary - Tea from this popular garden herb is said to relieve gas and colic, but drinking more than two or three cups a day may irritate the stomach.
Thyme - Herbalists recommend thyme tea for gastrointestinal complaints and to alleviate lung congestion.

Re: Teas with a purpose
Excellent thread! Thank You to all those who have given recipes. I'm going to write some down to try!
I've a question. I don't drink black tea or english tea etc, so is there a substitute or can I just make the tea without this base?
I also thought I'd share a tea that I make:
'Moonbeam' Tea
This is something I make often. I make a pot every fullmoon, as well as each new season that comes or when I feel I need some. All you need to do is brew a pot of herbal tea. The choice of herbs you use is what you feel you need at the time. Preferably a brew from 1, 2 or 3 herbs is best. Herbs I often use are Jasmine flowers or mugwort.
Once you've made your pot of tea, sit it outside in a place in Nature for the night where it will be undisturbed ie: no children, pets or wildlife to knock it over and away from electrical interference (so not under a powerline!). Allow your pot to sit under the fullmoon for the night so it is empowered with lunar energy.
The tea is excellent for anything you would like to use it for. I make it to empower soap (by adding it to the oils), and to use it in a lotion with flower essences. I'll also return some to our Earthmother (as I always do). If there is any left over, I'll often drink it!
Love & Peace
