The Gallant Migraine
Name: The Blue Migraine
Archtype: Mutant Defender
Powerset: Empathy/Psychic Blast
First Appearance: Paragon City. June, 1932.

Overview: A wealthy debutante by day, caped crusader by night.

Brace Carraway had always lead a life of luxury. The only son of an entrepeneur and a socialite, his life was rarely found wanting. And so he had a priviledged youth, living in a sprawling mansion outside of the city, attending parties at night with other similarly bred individuals.

He thought it was all too damn boring. He enjoyed the finer things, the life, the motor cars, the clothes, the women, but at the end of the day he felt empty. He felt like the money he received each month should be going to more than booze and pretty faces. Fate, it seems, is not entirely deaf.

He threw himself headlong into his father's work, desperate to find meaning. Instead, it found him. One of the various projects that were funded with Carraway money was a tonic factory. It wasn't saving the world, but it at least it was helping make people healthier.

A criminal mastermind cannot run on evil alone, and Gray Fist sent one of his lieutenants, Wrecking Ball, as well as a score of thugs out to gather some funds. Carraway's Tremendous Tonics just happened to be on their list. Brace was working late that night and was on the scene during the robbery.

He had some training as a boxer, but he wasn't stupid. Twenty thugs plus a crazed villain wasn't something he was willing to deal with. Unfortunately, Wrecking Ball had other ideas. Stealing wasn't enough, no, as he and the other thugs were leaving he ulneashed a radioactive blast, hurling Brace backward and into a shelf of tonics. They left him for dead.

Brace awoke with the worst headache of his life. He was in the hospital, bandaged from head to toe, but he was alive. That wasn't all.

After a few weeks he learned that something changed, snapped within him. He found his mind expanding, opening itself to new possibilities. If he thought hard enough he could harm or heal another being. Indeed, if he tried very hard he could even push against the surface of the earth, propelling himself into the air.

From there life became much simpler. He found his chance to do something and he pursued it with a vengeance. Taking ot the streets he mixed his mental powers with his boxing ability and began foiling thugs and other criminals. He adopted "The Blue Migraine" to reflect the mental pain that both he and his foes experienced as a result. If he used his powers too much, he would find himself almost incapacitated by pain.

After about a year of solo crime fighting, The Blue Migraine fell in with the Doomsday Corps, seeking a chance to even the score with Wrecking Ball. Unfortunately for him, he never got the chance.

The trap worked perfectly, casting the heroes in suspended animation for seventy years. When Brace awoke, he found himself alone the rest of his former comrades gone. His family was long dead, the only memory was a trust fund established in his name.

He returned to his roots, hitting the streets once more, and seeking to thwart villainy, one headache at a time.

Re: The Gallant Migraine
Great background!

* really wishes he'd had more chance to play with Blue Migraine than the one mission we did together *

Re: The Gallant Migraine
Glad you liked it. The background was something I just came up with when I posted it to the Project thread back on the beta boards.

As far as teaming goes, well, I think we just ended up running in different circles. I was almost always on when Atom, TG, and Shifty were around but seemingly never with Doc or Quickshot. I did enjoy running with you as Blue Sun though. That mission was fun...if a bit rough.
