Current Guild Ranking (19th): Mid Velious Era


More Luclin and Velious Era MOBs were knocked off the AIF Most Wanted Hit list this week, clear signs that AIF is becoming stronger and more organized as a raiding force. This week has us ranked as a Mid-Velious Era guild, with a new category for the ranking: 19th! Read the headline news for more details.

Headline News
- AIF ranked in the top 20 guilds on the server. If you consider the RTA Rotations List as one measurement of a guild's raiding ability, you might be surprised that AIF is ranked in the top 19th tier among other raiding guilds and alliances on the server. Based on the number of rotations that AIF is currently involved in (3), we share the 19th tier with Grave Wisdom. Gaining another two rotations will edge us into the 18th tier, along with Eternal Twilight. AIF is hoping to get two of those rotations (Klandicar in Western Wastes and the Statue of Rallos Zek in Kael) this month, so keep an attentive eye on the Raid Forum!

- Two more "firsts" on the AIF Most Wanted List, this week, as we took out Derakor the Vindicator and Doomshade last Friday! It was some great coordination and mobilization of the guild forces, with quick setup of the raid groups. Great job, AIF!! Congratz to all those who got drops!

- Planar Flagging Groups continued to raid the Plane of Storms this past week, getting drops from various named giants and Diaku Raiders. We had an exciting 2-group kill on Solnebk the Unruly, and we now have sufficient drops to flag two full groups of AIF members to the Plane of Tactics! Dryanna and Nuamas are also getting very close to completeing their quests, so expect to see four full groups flagged for Tactics this month, and moving up to more challenging planes of power!

- We've been doing a lot of raiding the past few weeks, and the War Room strategy guides are starting to fill up with content. Kudos to Ainolin and Nuamas for setting all this stuff up! We're looking for YOUR help in adding to the content. Add your comments and observations to each strategy guide, so we can develop a more complete tactics guide for each encounter and boss MOB!

- Did you take Nefarrio's Raid Knowledge Pop Quiz this week? The question was -- What is ENRAGE? Enrage is a special attack that some high-end MOBs have which does the following: 1) All attacks from the front 90-degree arc get reposted (damage that you do to the MOB is reflected back on you), 2) All attacks on the outer sides (45-60 degree arc) get parried (MOB takes no damage), 3) All attacks on the rear of the MOB do normal damage. What should you do when you see ENRAGE called? Stop All Melee Attacks! Casters may continue nuking, the A1 tank will attempt to maintain a high-level of aggro by continuously clicking /taunt and any clicky aggro effects he can. ENRAGE has a short duration, but it is crucial that you be watching for it to occur -- and act appropriately.

- The VP Assault Team is still on target, and working hard to obtain their keys to Veeshan's Peak for an early summer raid there. Allyssa jumped in and ripped through the first half dozen keys this week, getting seven of the key components needed in the quest. That's a paladin eager for some dragon-slaying! Woot!!

- Venril Sathir's Remains (VSR) was triggered by 4 Avengers this week, and when Venril Sathir dropped, Rakka looted his Pulsing Green Stone. Later in the week, a small group dropped into the Hole to drop Jaeil the Wretched, winning his Soulbound Hammer. Shantar MQ'd the Swirling Sphere of Color with Rakka and woo-hoo, we've got another Epic Ranger in the guild. Congratz in winning the first half (Swiftwind) of your epic, Rakka!

- AIF had an old-fashioned Epic Raid in Kunark (yes, our raid forces are a bit overkill for Kithicor these days, but it was still fun!). Congratz Xumten on your Rogue Epic!

- Congratz Klim on your Spirit Wracked Cords!

- Congratz to Wushong, another step closer on his Monk Epic with a kill of the Sleeping Ogre in Nurga. Thanks to the avengers who joined the Chardok faction grind before felling the ogre!

- Get your reservations in for the Plane of Sky, this Friday starting at 9:00pm EST. Our goal for the night is to start at Isle #5 (Spiroc Isle) and press all the way to the top!

- Sarneho and Solaxx both logged that they have completed the Planes of Justice trial

Veeshan's Peak
- Allyssa ran through most of the VP keys, getting F1-F4, F7, F9 and F11 this week! Wow!!
