Week #112 (Feb 23 - Feb 29)
Current Guild Ranking (20th): Late Velious Era
First, I'd like to thank the guild this week by saying, "Badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, mushroom, mushroom!" If you don't understand this yet, then you must find religion!.
Headline News
- Giant Bashing on the Plane of Storm We were hunting Diaku's on the Plane of Storms this week. Dryanna obtained the last emblem she was looking for (woot!), which means she'll be able to flag herself and five other Avengers for the Plane of Tactics. We now have three AIF groups flagged for Tactics! Giocoso is only two emblems away from completing his quest (allowing us to flag another group of Avengers). Unfortunately, he had to leave just as we finished Dryanna's emblem collection. The group (for that's all that was left of the raiding force, at that point) moved to the Ocean Giants fortress. There we pulled giants for those AIF members looking to get quest drops for their Bastion of Thunder flags. Gratz Faleria and Juziah!
- Halls of Testing: AIF returned to the Halls of Testing. We had no ambitions other than to become a bit more familiar with the zone (only our third time here), but we found Dozekar up and decided to make a run at him. Dozekar drops 1-4 tears that are used in quests given out by Lendiniara the Keeper, Gozzrem and Telkorenar in the West Wings of ToV. You need ally faction to CoV to complete these quests, and the [link=www.angelfire.com/space/bigdrawze/Tears.txt newwindow]items[/link] are very nice. Dozekar is also one of the RTA rotations mobs. We didn't have quite the DPS force that we needed (or the insta-click items essential in a fight like this), but as it didn't appear Shadow Reapers would be hitting him tonight, we decided to make a pass at him. We made two attempts, getting him down to 60% on the second try. We decided to lick our wounds and call it a night after that. We've since had some discussions in the War Room, folks are working on their insta-click items (insta-click items have been added to membership application forms, and are now expected as part of standard raiding gear). We're confident that on our next run, we'll be able to take Dozekar down for the kill. Thank you, Shadow Reapers, for allowing us the attempt on the dragon.
- Have You Met Mr. Lucky?: Geffin has the distinct honor of becoming AIF's Mr. Lucky. With a small hunting group (Derva, Oniel, Slithering, and Rezfold) he managed to collect all 4 Pearlescent Fragments (required for his cleric epic) in less than an hour. We were stunned with his success rate in drops. From this point forward, all AIF raids will begin with a short ceremony during which all raid participants must rub this halfling's head for luck! Someone pluck his toe hair and use it in a tradeskill recipie, quick!
- Vex Thal Shard Hunting: More Avengers have taken interest, as of late, in the key collecting for Vex Thal. Cabula and Sarneho obtained their Kel shards in The Grey. Nefarrio obtained his Lor shard from Dawnshroud Peaks.
- Veeshan's Peak Assault Team Update: Allyssa has become 8th AIF Avenger to obtain all of the medallions required for access to Veeshan's Peak. She's one dragon kill (Trakanon) away from joining the VP Assault Team! Rakka began his initiation with the VP Assault Team, obtaining two pieces of the Jarsath Medallion this past week.
- Temple of the Ssraeshza: Allyssa obtained her Taskmaster's Pouch, during an Impromptu Hunt in the Temple of the Ssraeshza by Avengers this past week. She's two kills away from AIF's first Snake Temple key (aside from Howlar, who obtained his key while raiding with other guilds)!
- Marsinger Hunting Parties: AIF continues to help the Marsinger Twins (or are they married?). Davey joined with other Avengers on the Plane of Hate this week, and brought home some Abhorent Powder. He's on his way toward questing for the Gem of War.
- Clockwork Talisman Hunting Parties: Nral joined the ranks of Avengers working on their Clockwork Talisman Necklaces. The Clockwork Talisman is a progressive quest, that takes players through Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 (elemental) planes. The quest that you obtain from doing the first tier planes (Justice, Innovation, Nightmare, Disease) is a very nice item, with bonuses to stats and resists. At the elemental levels, the necklace is amazing (+15 to all resists, and primary stats). If you haven't started this quest, you really should look into it.
- Aiding the Coldain: With the new and improved (easier to use) tradeskill system, many AIF members are turning back to the much maligned Coldain Prayer Shawl. Shantar has completed the Runed Coldain Prayer Shawl (#7), and he has several extra Runed Sea Shells that he picked off a vendor cheap. He's offered these shells up at no charge to the first four AIF members who complete Shawl #6 (Avengers who follow that will be hunting in the Grotto). Magsham and Bonecall both jumped on the Coldain Prayer Shawl wagon this week, finishing shawls 3 and 4 repsectively.
Welcome to the New Recruits!
Welcome Vladthethird (56-Shadowknight). Vlad is no stranger to the Avengers in Faith, we've seen him on a number of raids already. He's been romping with us every chance he could while taged with the Radicals Under New Order, he just recently opted to join in and make it all official!
Serket is the newest main (don't blink, or it might change) of Ahrok. Nukefrog is retired in his swamp, at least for the moment, while Serket climbs the Beserker Throne of Greatness!

Keys and Flags
More hunting parties were organized in the Plane of Storms this week, as AIF works toward getting members keyed for Bastion of Thunder and the Plane of Tactics! Individual AIF members continued looking for the key components they need to win access to Veeshan's Peak and Vex Thal:

- Allyssa finished collecting all of her medallions for VP, and only needs her Trakanon's Tooth to complete the key.

- Sarneho got busy with Vex Thal keys this week, obtaining Lor, Kelera, Set shards!
