Week #114 (Mar 8 - Mar 14)
Current Guild Ranking (20th): Late Velious Era

Headline News
- Server Patch, Patch, Patch: We were plagued this week by numerous server patches, which caused us to cancel our Ssra Temple raid on Wednesday (server reset meant that many of the rotation MOBs were reset, and the temple was simply too crowded for us to do our “thing”). We made an attempt on King Tormax, learned a lot from the encounter – got him down to 75% -- and are looking forward to making another go at him soon! We also did another run in the Halls of Testing, which reminded us on the importance of CoV faction, and building upon our raid tactics. Hopefully, with a more stable server, we’ll be able to get caught up on our 2004 agenda this week!
- Epic Stuff: We bashed around a bunch of Epic encounters last week. The Dark Elf Corruptor was dropped by an AIF group in East Karana (for guild applicant Mecfire). And then later that night he was dropped this darkie again for Kirinia. We visited an old stomping ground, Karnor’s Castle, and dropped Venril Sathir’s Remains for Kirinia, as well. A bunch of Avengers dropped down into the Hole to gang up on Jaeil the Insane. Arrowflight got her Swiftwind. “We had a blast,” said Avenger Benibinik. “And got a few epic pieces done.” Nice work, Avengers!
- Progressional Quests: Our alliance with the Coldain Dwarves grew stronger this month, championed by heroes like Soullbash and Gravelor. Through service and favor to the dwarves, Soullbash earned his Adamntium Coldain Ring (#7). Gravelor completed his Coldain Hero’s Ring (#9). Obsidiun, Soullbash, Footracker, and Kirinia all completed the Earrings of the Solstice quests. Can you say Flowing Thought four times? I thought you could!
- Tigran and Nefarrio get busy with Vex Thal keys: Nefarrio got his Dax shard from Akheva Ruins, and his Ved shard from Acrylia Caverns. Tigran got his Kel shard from the Grey, his Set shard from the Scarlet Desert, his Dat shard from Fungus Grove, and his Tak shard from Maiden’s Eye.
- Soullbash’s New Pony: A bunch of Avengers were slumming in Ssra Temple, with Soullbash in their number. This was one happy crossdresser at the end of the night. “In one night I gained 60% and dinged 61, won a White Silken Bridle, and was awarded a Zazuzh’s Idol. Thank you, AIF.”
- The Battle of Kael Drakkel: With such a large influx of new members recently, AIF has had to go back to some old stomping grounds to help get these Young Avengers equipped (and on a suitable faction with the dragons of Velious). So the Young Avengers have been spending a lot of time in Kael this past week. Velious armor drops and upgrades were won by Astarin, Geffin, and Angelskiss – and the gang had a lot of fun!

- Gondarionas (52-Necromancer) is a friend of Wushong, and he joins AIF this week as our newest heretic. We're the first guild he's ever been in, so he fits right in with the rest of us newbs!
- Alyene (57-Druid) is a friend of Gondarionas, which reinforces an old truth we've long known -- when you welcome one new member to your family, you often welcome a few of their closest friends, too. Alyene's been described by Avengers as having a bubbly personality. And tanks that participated in our recent Velketor and Trakanon raids are letting out a sigh of relief to have her in our ranks!
- Pulazzaxx (51-Shaman) is an old friend of the guild in a new guise. This is Timmbukk (who seems to have a "thing" for double consonants in a name), and it's great to have him back in AIF. Although I'm starting to think about changing the guild name to "Shamans in Faith". Look at all the shaman in the guild these days!!
- Wurlatin (55-Mage) joins the Avengers this week, introduced to us by his cousin Geffin. When he's not summoning pets and items, Wurlatin enjoys skateboarding, and playing on his gamecube.
- Venea (52-Necromancer) joins the Avengers, referred to us by Astarin. She's a UPS "grunt" by day, defiler by night!
- Omenmoon (60-Enchanter) is a long-time acquaintance of the Avengers, along with her hubby Benibinik. Omen is the character she applied with, but Angelzheart is her main. Welcome!
- Benibinik (59-Cleric) works as a computer system's enginer at the US Patent and Trademark Office, and joins the Avengers with his wife Omenmoon this week. Between the two of them, and their 5 accounts, they also introduced 31 (!!!) alts into the guild, as well. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, mushroom, mushroom!
- Alyene (57-Druid) joins the Avengers this week, after being referred by her pal Gondarionas. Her favorite pastime is causing havoc with her buds. Welcome!
- Astarin (62 Shadowknight) is a marine stationed in Texas as an Avionics Electrical systems Engineer, and joins the Avengers as our newest knight of shadows.
- Fiondra (58-Ranger) works at EB games in Pennsylvania -- so if you have any questions about up and coming games, just ask her. =)
No more Ding or AAXP tables in these reports
With Shantar’s new job, he has considerably less time to devote to this weekly summary of guild events. One of the more time-consuming activities was building the ding and AAXP skill up tables, along with all the loot drops. I’ll still try to get the loot drops in when I can, but the skill up tables will just have to go. Sorry. =(
