Headline News
- AIF Reaches for the Sky: Last week, when we went to the Plane of Sky, AIF obtained a bunch of epic drops for deserving Avengers and collected a bunch of keys. This week, we did it again, starting at Isle 5 (Spiroc Isle) where we had left off before. This time, we pushed all the way to the top most isles of Sky, landing two (2) Crowns of Mastery (mage epic drop) in the process (gratz Wurlatin and Aaradeb!). We added a lot of first time kills to the AIF Most Wanted list, too, dropping the Spiroc Lord and Bazzt Zzzt that night. Some great split tank training and reinforcement of our raid tactics was made, as well. "That was a lot of fun," cheered Avenger Recruit Fiondra. "I know we are going to go back. See you all there."

- Cleric Loving: We have four new clerics in the guild and all are banging away steadily at their epics. This week we killed Ixiblat Fer (twice) for Geffin and Benibinik. We also doused Ragefire, allowing Geffin to complete his epic -- congratz! Beni, Angelskiss, and Rusco are closing up their steps as well. Clickity, click, click!

- To Save A God! This past week, Karana's salvation came in the unlikely form of a dark elf rogue named Sceaduwulf. Karana, as some Avengers know, is trapped in the Bastion of Thunder by Agnarr the Storm Lord. There he waits patiently for some heroic group to rescue him. In preparation of that, Sceaduwulf coordinated a small raid on the southwest tower of the Bastion of Thunder this week. We collected spheres needed to gain access to Agnarr's Tower, preparing for our ultimate show down with the Storm Lord. We had a solid turn-out of DPS, and it was fun exploring a new area of BoT. Can't wait to do it again!

- Nathyn Illumious Dies to AIF: Sortilege has had his eye on the Robe of Dark Beguilement for some time now, and called for a Sunday Raid against the owner of this fabulous robe: Nathyn is 64-level Enchanter ... with 600K hit points and insane AC (NPC's get all the love, don't they?). However, he's fish food once you get him slowed and crippled (and drained of mana). And that's exactly what AIF made of him after a 25-minute fight. "Everybody was Kung-fu fighting," commented Cabula, main tank for the lasting brawl. "Those kids were fast as lightning!" Gratz, Sorti, on your new robe!

- Everquest Looking Good on DirectX9: One of the recent patches this week requires DirectX 9 for all Everquest clients. The graphics are more vivid (and those of us who played SWG see a lot of "seemingly burrowed" code in this patch). There are some bugs and bumps with the new engine, of course. Players get stuck in the geography more, some curious binding death loops, and MOB warpings. But overall the change is interesting, and SOE should have the kinks worked out soon. In the meanwhile, be careful out there!

- Hexus Among Us: Hexus peeked in to say "Hello!" this week. He's been off trying different game systems, including SWG and FFXI. Hopefully the fact that he wandered back into the neighborhood means he'll be trying out this EQ thingy again. Pressure him a little by sending your "Come back, Kotter!" spam to Hexus@blahblahblah.com!

- Sebilis Keys: Soullbash obtained his key to Old Sebilis this week, so he'll be ready to join us on the next Trak run. Congratz!
