Week #117 (Mar 29 - Apr 4)
Current Guild Ranking (16th): Early POP Era

This week, we focused on Planes of Power, and despite April 1st coming and now gone, there was no fooling around in AIF this week! We hit Bastion of Thunder towers, Plane of Justice Trials, Plane of Storm, Plane of Nightmare
Headline News
- To Save A God! (Yes, this is a reprint article; but it was originally scheduled to appear this week -- sorry for the repeat news!) This past week, Karana's salvation came in the unlikely form of a dark elf rogue named Sceaduwulf. Karana, as some Avengers know, is trapped in the Bastion of Thunder by Agnarr the Storm Lord. There he waits patiently for some heroic group to rescue him. In preparation of that, Sceaduwulf coordinated a small raid on the southwest tower of the Bastion of Thunder this week. We collected spheres needed to gain access to Agnarr's Tower, preparing for our ultimate show down with the Storm Lord. We had a solid turn-out of DPS, and it was fun exploring a new area of BoT. Can't wait to do it again!
- Xanamech obliterated: In the scrapyard of the Plane of Innovation, AIF joined forces with Evolutia Draconis and took on Xanamech the Clockwork Dragon! This was the largest raid force that we've mustered (8 groups, just over 45 players!) and kudos to Allyssa for taking over when Shanty's chat channels started acting up. Many thanks to Evolutia Draconis for joining us -- it was a lot of fun, and we hope to kill more "stuff" with you very soon! Stay tuned for another run against the dragon this week -- this time, we'll get the necessary Factory flags!
- Plane of Justice Trials: Nefarrio organized a "Plane of Justice Trials" flagging night on Tuesday, but just as we were about to go in, we got the beloved serverwide message that all servers were coming "coming down for a short patch in 15 minutes." Grrrrrr! The down time was just over an hour, and it threw off our flagging grove for the night. When the servers did come up, our favorite trial was being hustled by Syndicate of Rage. We tried a few new trials, had some fun, learned a bunch, and got Cabular and Wurlatin their PoJ flags. We'll be back at the Plane of Justice this week, we have a lot more trials to get through!
- Plane of Storm Ocean Giants: Shantar was looking to help AIF members get their flags for Bastion of Thunder this past week. There was a pretty low turn-out (only Shantar turned up!!), but he joined with some friends in Dallow Abligo and got two of the drops he needed for himself. Another Storm Giant hunt will be organized this week, so stay tunned!
- The Quest for Time: A new tracking table was added this week, to go along with your Planes of Power focus: Planar Progression. The Planar Progression table tracks all the necessary flags for an AIF member to get to the Plane of Time. This will be an interesting table to track in the days, weeks and months ahead!
- New Forum: Impromptu Raids, LFG and Events: Cabula offered a great suggestion to create a new forum called "Impromptu Raids, LFG and Events". The hope is that members will be more inclined to set up their own Impromptu Raids, or even use the forum to put LFG events together in advance. Officially sanctioned guild events will continue to be scheduled in the "Scheduled Raids and Events" forum. Members should feel welcome to post in EITHER forum (yes, anyone can schedule and run an officially sanctioned raid -- it's not the right of officers only!), but appreciate that formal raids require a bit more planning and organization.
- Return to Katta Castellum! Sortilege organized his second raid in Katta Castellum this past Sunday, but this team the target was Lcea Katta. She's a warrior with a fancy shmancy charm proc, and a bit tougher than Nathyn Illuminous (whom AIF dropped last week). Indeed, Nathyn Illuminous was on the menu again this week, just as a warm-up excercise -- congratz Crosiss on your Robe of Dark Beguilement! Lcea Katta, on the other hand, proved to be a tad more of a challenge. The raid force was unable to bring her down after two attempts.
- Sev Trio'd: AIF's turn on the Severlious rotation came up this past week, and folks were looking forward to steamrolling over this most-hunted-of-all dragons (how many nanoseconds do you think he'd live with the traditional raid crew?). A server reset botched our scheduled raid time, but Ainolin, Foxanudo, and Nuamas caught the dragon up in the wee hours -- and brought him down. Gratz guys, sounds like it was a fun trio kill! We have more rotations coming due this week (Zlandicar and Trakanon), so watch the Raid Forums for more dragon killing fun!
- Spirit of Torment Dropped: A small group of Avengers journeyed to Stonebrunt Mountains, and helped Soullbash defeat the Spirit of Torment for his Epic. Congratz, Lord of the Beasts!
Ding -- You have gained an experience level!
Due to a mysterious string of unusual events, EVERY main in the guild hit 65 this week! Great job, everybody!! Special mentions to Serket (who did it for real), Allyssa who hit 64, and Rusco who hit 59!
Keys and Flags Acquired This Week
Cabula obtained his PoJ Trial flag!
Venea obtained her Sebilis key this week.
Wurlatin obtained his Sebilis and Howling Stones keys, and also his flag for the Plane of Justice Trials.
