Define it yourself (Me first). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My turn. ---- Hellenism is an ancient culture that originated in southern Haimos and spread throughout much of Haimos (including southern Illyrians and southern Thracians), western Asia (former Persian held lands) and Egypt in ancient times. Hellenism is the oldest traceable mother culture for Haimos (including southern Illyrians and southern Thracians). Hellenism is what it is and it is unimportant whether the source is Albania (region where Hellenistic Illyrians resided in antiquity), which is not, or south of that (try ancient Athens, ancient Ionia in Asia Minor for starters). Hellenism greatly affected Romans (example of conqueror being concurred) who in turn become culturally hellenized although they preferred using their own names (ex. Religion). Hellenism is the cornerstone of Roman civilization and both had major direct or indirect impact on Renaissance and French and American revolution. French revolution shaped modern Europe. Thus Hellenism's offspring's are Roman civilization, Renaissance and western civilization. Hellenism is the artists, philosophers, mathematicians, scientists, scholars, writers, poets, orators, architects, theologians, historians, sophists, playwrights, athletes, Spartan and Macedonian Kings, Athenian politicians, generals, Alexander the Great, Pyrros of Molossians, Philip of Macedonia, Leonidas of Sparta, Thermopile, Marathon, Salamis, Alexandria in Egypt, Parthenon, Socrates, Plato, Aristotelis, Ptolemaic Egypt, Seleucid kings of Syria, Bactria, Athens, Thebes, Sparta, Syracuse, holly Delphi, holly Olympus with all its Gods and Zeus above all is just to name same names for all are next to impossible to name.
