What's new with everyone? (Let's get updated)
Okay, people...it's been a LONG time. What has everyone been up to?
Let's see..I am still working in the newsroom of our local paper and doing the website as well. I got a divorce earlier this year. I am doing good, happy and content in the knowledge that I am where God wants me at.
I'm not moving to Texas--James decided in August that a relationship with me wasn't worth the things that he would have to give up...he decided that he'd been alone too long and just wasn't willing to change his lifestyle. So, he dumped me--via EMAIL. That was pretty difficult for me to deal with, but I know that God intervened in the situation and protected me...what if I had quit my really good job and moved to a really crappy town where I knew no one and THEN this happened? I'm grateful for His protection.
I'm still working at my same job, but have a new boss and that's been an incredible blessing...she's a Christian and an excellent leader. None of the old junk--I can actually concentrate on my work now.
I catered a friend's wedding Saturday and am doing another one in November...maybe I'm starting a new business!
So...that's pretty much my life. I'm going to Dallas in a couple of weeks to see Chad--I haven't been there since July, so I need a "fix"!

Hey Dena, congrats on your new title. Sorry to hear about James. I met a guy a few months ago named TJ. We have gotten pretty serious. He's a good guy and I can be myself around him. Something I never really did when I was married.
I got a new job today. I am still at the paper but now I will be designing all the pages and the web site on a full time basis. I'm excited.
I've missed ya girl!

I'm glad that things worked out for the best.
And Jan, congrats on the promotion!! Awesome.
I have been divorced for a year now. (wow....) and out on my own for 2 years. I'm kinda proud of that! I learned all the fun stuff like balancing checkbooks and paying bills on time. (something the ex never bothered to do.)
In April of this year I met a really great guy named Lawrence at perfectmatch.com. He lived in Lawrenceville, GA - ironically enough. Unfortunately, the times I visited him in GA we never got to go to Real Life Church together. He was a member at a church called Christian City Church, which is very cool... the pastors are from Australia.
Lawrence moved to AL in July, he got a job in the mortgage industry and lives about a mile from me. It's been ummm.... interesting, lol. He lived alone for a long time, with only his dog for companionship. He also used to work in the cleaning industry.... So sometimes me and my kids and my chaos are a little too much for him, I think! But the upside of that is that I can go over to his apartment whenever me and my kids and my chaos get to be too much for ME.
UNfortunately me and my ex are in a custody battle over our two boys. They used to both live with him.... then HE got married to someone HE met at eharmony.com.... after a very SHORT engagement. He moved his new wife and two new stepkids to AL from TN in April. Consequently my oldest son, David moved back in with me. I don't know if their dad decided to punish me for THAT or for bringing another man into my life, but he forced our 12 year old son Jon to move back to his house. So I filed to get custody of all 3 of my kids in court. We went to our preliminary hearing Oct. 5th. and so far I haven't heard anything from the judge. I sure got raked over the coals on the witness stand tho. But I can save that for another posting.
I think that might bring my up to date... I am still working at the bakery, and have a second job now working for a caterer. Alot of times I think I'm gonna pass myself coming and going from one job to the other. And now my stupid computer is messed up. This place looks SO weird in Safe Mode.....

Hi everyone! I am so glad to be back, but also to see that there are still some friends still around. I am so happy you guys are doing well!!
I am living in Chicago right now. I am a full time student, majoring in music business management. I work part time at school, and I am interning at a label here. Other than that, there is not a lot of news from here. I just spend time with my dad and my two dogs.
I am so happy to have found you guys again..and sorry I took so long to get back here!
I missed you guys!

I am doing great! Things are crazy busy between school, work, internship, etc..but I have no complaints. Things are going really well. I have found a new church that I love, a lot of things that were obstacles have been cleared out of the way, and for once I feel like I am going in the right direction!

Me too!!
I want some of that "things are going right" stuff, too...where do I sign up for it? Actually, it's not so much that things are going "wrong" for me now...they're just NOT GOING. It's more of that "waiting on God" stuff, I know, but I get a little impatient sometimes and want to get on with my life!
Apparently, God has a lesson in here somewhere for me, though.
I listened to Brad's sermon online a couple of weeks ago and it just totally blessed my socks off and encouraged me--sometimes I think I'm doing a big fat nothing and then I hear a sermon about loving people in real ways and realize that maybe God IS using me when I don't realize it. :-)

thanks for the call tonight. I needed to hear a friendly voice of encouragement.
