Who Is the HBP?
One more time, Ladies and Gents. Let's place the bets! This will be fun to have when whe find out who it is. We can look back at our choices and argue why they should have been the HBP, anyway. :)

Godric Gryffindor
Dobby the House Elf
Rubeus Hagrid
Seamus Finnigan
Other, Please List

Re: Who Is the HBP?
Oooh I just had a awesome thought as to the cover of HBP. OK then on the cover of the book we see a pillar and what looks like a pensieve at the top of it right? I was over at Pemberley and someone asked whether Harry could be seeing his parent's death through that pensieve, and I replied that I don't think there was anyway that Harry could have witnessed the murders. Only three people were there except Harry, and two are dead and I doubt Harry would be looking through Voldemorts.

Ok everyone knows that I am with Aspen and believe the HBP to be Godric Gryffindor. What if it is Godric's pensieve on the cover? OK we only know of Dumbledore's and Snape's pensieve's, but as I recall they don't sit atop a pillar. Also when you look at the book cover and look over the penisieve it looks like it could be a thousand years old. Maybe that is how we are supposed to meet the HBP, by means of his pensieve.

This was just a thought and I know that I may be way off, but I just wanted to post it. 16 more days!!!!

Re: Who Is the HBP?
hey, that is a pretty cool theory! I like it! Now, before I vote...weren't there certain people that JKR said were NOT the half blood prince? Or perhaps I am imagining something? But are any of the people on the list people whom JKR has certainly said are not the HBP?

Personally, I think it will be whoever is the new DADA teacher.

We know there will be a new DADA teacher this year. And we have the desciption of a new character who has a lion like mane.

Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to!

Re: Who Is the HBP?
To ejeana's question, I do believe JK Rowling said Hagrid is not the HBP. Pretty sure she did anyways.

Oh I was over at Pemberley again and some replied to my post over there saying that it could be Harry using the pensieve himself. Putting in his own thoughts and memories. I thought that was a good idea too. Dumbledore could be allowing him to use it so Harry could clear his mind up. Even maybe so Harry could further learn Occlumency. I still like the theory of Godric's I had, but Harry using it for himself is a good one too.

Re: Who Is the HBP?
thanks, Lady C, I was thinking that perhaps Hagrid was specifically mentioned as not being the hbp. I was going to vote for him, though, not because I have any reasonable theory or textual evidence, just because I think it would be cool if he were the hbp.

so, I voted for "other". My guess is it will be a known character whose lineage hasn't yet been specifically revealed. why do I think that? who knows? I certainly don't. I do, however, like the idea of "normal" things being revealed to be special, and things hiding in plain sight.

Re: Who Is the HBP?
RHONDA CALLED IT!!!!!!

I never talked to ANYone who called it ahead of time besides Rhonda. I don't think I ever heard anyone suggest that Snape might be the half-blood prince. And though you didn't NAME him, you called it all the same.

I just now realized that. Good on ya!
