Good luck with your play, mate - Personally i'll act in anything as long as I get a decent part - and by that I mean that the play is well written, i've turned down parts because perhaps the dialogue was poor or stilted and i'm not so desperate to act that I want to make myself look a prat, though I have acted appalling scripts in my time and professionally too...
I would say my favourites stage plays are by Shakespeare for the gravitas and peerless poetry, Pinter for the clean simplicity, and I also enjoyed Waiting for Godot, a pleasure to act.
Ideally, character-wise, I would like to play to my strengths all the time - I have an exceptionally expressive face and love to act with it with a camera picking up nuances that theatre audiences cannot. Jack Nicholson has had some superb scripts in his time, I would have loved to have played anything from Jake Gittes to Melvyn Udal, but the one that sums up what I do best would have been his role in The Shining - s'just a shame I was only 5 when it was cast because i'd have loved that role....
