Yule Log
6 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2tbs. brandy
2tbs. baking powder
Beat yolks and sugar to a souffle'; add flour, brandy, baking powder. Fold in well-beaten egg whites. Spread on well-buttered, lined baking sheet 12x15 inches, or jelly roll pan. Bake on 375 about 5 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately turn out on towel sprinkled with granulated sugar. Roll with towel and let cool.
Chocolate Butter Frosting
Beat 1 cup butter until very creamy. Stir in 2 egg yolks. Beat in 4 cups sugar a little at a time. Melt 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate over hot water. Coll slightly and beat it into frosting.
Unroll cake, remove towel, and spread with part of the frosting. Roll up firmly, Cover top and side with frosting. Draw design in frosting with a fork to resemble a log.

Oh that sounds so good! Some where I have a way to make candy leaves like holly that would go great with this. The trick is to find it!!!!!

I know what ya mean gurl....I was lookin for mom's thingy to make peanut butter balls, and came across this and was like well, isn't that cute! lol I wish I could have put the pic up, but I don't have a scanner, and it was black and white....I dunno where she got it from, but it looked really good even in black and white!
