a new request...
this one is for my daughter Melody. when she was in 4th grade they detected a curvature in her spine. well she's 13 now, and with the onset of puberty the curve has become more pronounced. we have to go to a specialist on the 18 of aug. i am praying that they can stop this trend, and i'm sure that is gonna mean some sort of body brace. i just don't want it to be so obvious that kids make fun of her in school.
i don't really know what kind of treatments they use for scoliosis these days. they say it runs in families, but it never showed up in mine...
anyway, please pray for her. and me... cuz i'm feeling pretty bad for not noticing it sooner.

hey,
just wanted to let you guys know that a body brace was thinking positive... Melody has to have rods put in her spine some time in December. this is a major 6 hour surgery, with a hospital stay of 5 to 7 days, then a month at home before she can go back to school. the thing that bothers her the most is that she won't be able to ride roller coasters ever again...
i think i'm taking it worse than she is... but that's ok. i can keep my anxieties to myself. (or bring them here, to my friends, who will be faithful to pray for us as the time for surgery draws near.) I will be sure to keep you all updated, and thanks for your prayers and encouragement.

thanks..... i'll keep ya updated. right now we are trying to fix the best date, between school and my two jobs, that just incidentally need me more than ever during the timeframe they first picked for her surgery. (dec. 14th)
i'll have to miss alot of work, and even tho i have had some people say they'd help... it's gonna be more living life on the edge for us here....

Just to update.... Mel's surgery was almost a year ago!! She is totally fine and I think she has even snuck in a few roller coasters......
She got out of the hospital 2 days early... amazing all her nurses and the surgeon... At her last appointment her Dr told her she had the straightest spine he ever operated on. (I think he's kinda proud of her.) I am too!!
I SO appreciate the prayers you sent up for us a year ago.
