Re: ?? about Apache Tears
This is what I found Shad:

Apache Tears: Small, dark, smoky-translucent Obsidian pebbles. Eases and releases pain, loss, sadness, anger, etc to help heal and go on with life. For looking within, protection, vision quest/purpose. gently grounds and unblocks lower body and endocrine glands/chakras. Aids healing. Represents tears of grief shed by Native American women after their loved ones' deaths due to invading troops.

APACHE TEARS...transforms & aids in the release of lower emotions

Apache tears are wonderful for the grieving process, allowing one to be angry and guilty and go through what they must, while making progress and letting go and not getting stuck on any level of the grieving process.

They are great for calming, centering, and removing negativity. a stone under one's pillow while dreaming removes nightmares, and it can also relieve stress when held in tense situations. it needs cleansing often so it does not keep holding in all the negative stuff that it sucks out of one's immediate environment. relates to the root and sacral chakras; should not be worn near throat or higher chakras as it is too heavy.

Because of its death/grieving aspects, a decent size one cut in half and polished makes a stupendous scrying stone for underworld matters. (This last was posted by Treeclimber in Thrice Round).

Thanks tons,Phuridai.I wonder if putting one on a necklace that hangs long enough to be nearer the heart chakra would be ok,rather than having one on a shorter, choker type necklace?I have a few that would be very nice on a necklace, but too large for a bracelet. But,anyway, thanks again, now if I forget,I can refer back to this.:b

Obsidian:

Obsidian is lustrous volcanic glass. The color range and related names are varied.

The intrinsic properties of the numerous forms of obsidian include the reflection of ones flaws and the promotion of a clear picture of the changes which are necessary to eliminate the flaws. The energies of obsidian produce very blunt answers, focusing ones inner vision and, actually, stimulating a picture or vision of the required cource of action.

Obsidian is an excellent grounding stone and provides for a connection from the base of the spine to the heart of the Earth. It is an excellent protective stone, stabilizing internal and external energies and gently protecting one from that which could bring physical and/or emotional harm.

It provides a shield against negativity, transforming negitive vibrations within an environment. Carrying/wearing obsidian further disperses those unloving thoughts which arise from within the self or are directed toward ones physical form.

It is quite useful in healing, providing both the healer and subject with clarity with respect to both the cause and the amelioration of the dis-ease.

Vibrates to the number 1.

Apache Tear:

The apache tear, a variety of obsidian, is volcanic glass and is usually found in a vitreous form of black, black/clear, black/smokey/clear, black/mahogany, and occasionally black/violet or black/green. The shape is somewhat spherical with conchoidal markings. The following properties are in addition to those listed in the OBSIDIAN listed above.

The apache tear has been traditionally considered to be one of the tears of Native American women, mourning for the warriors driven from a cliff by the calvery.

It has been used to comfort in times of grief; metaphorically, "sheds" the tears for ones times in sorrow, allowing for true understanding of the situation of distress in order to provide insight and acceptance. It allows ones comfort zone to "remain at large."

It provides an energy to stimulate analytical capabilities and precision. It also promotes a forgiving attitude and a release of grievances which have been held against another. The apache tear stimulates spontaneity and facilitates the removal of barriers which are self-limiting.

It is said to expel the venom of a snakebite. It can be used to enhance the assimulation of Vitamins C and D, to aid in the elimination of toxins from the body, and to alleviate muscle spasms.

Vibrates to the number 6.
