animals we may fear
I read somewhere that sometimes a power animal can be one that we may fear for whatever reason, because we have something to learn from that particular creature, any thoughts on this? I have to tell you and laugh if you want an animal I fear tremndously is the skunk, any info on skunks, they are defiantely a violent work of art.

Re: animals we may fear
When I started reading your post, the last thing I would have thought you would name,as an animal you fear, was a skunk.I was thinking snakes, bears, cougars, stuff like that.(and no,I'm not laughing). It's just that,I'm the exact polar opposite-I love skunks, even to the point of thinking they don't smell so bad.(Now,you CAN laugh at me for that, everyone does)
Skunk is one of my power animals. He represents independance.Skunks lead solitary lives, and must develop the instinct to know when to use thier power to get themselves out of a jam,as well as when NOT to use it.Skunk will teach you how to stand up for yourself,no matter how big ,or intimidating, the problem facing you,is.They are fairly shy, by nature, trying to avoid trouble, rather than going out looking for it.Yet when they feel cornered, they will not back down, yet they have no need to fight. They instead have developed a defense mechanism that allows them to do what they need to do,then walk away.
I hope this helps to explain some of what skunk can teach, and how, even though he may at first seem to be a strange idea of a power animal,he has much power to bestow upon anyone lucky enough to be chosen to recieve his lessons.

I have heard of people having skunks as their power animals so I wont laugh. Thank you for the info I think it sheds some light on a few things, but for the moment I think I still fear them.

I believe that the fear of worms signifies that the one who has this fear is a dizzy red-head.....

BWAhahahahaha...good one, Narsh!
Other aspects of the skunk are reputation and caution. The skunk reminds us to take a second look, carefully, at what we think we see. Skunks at first glance look little, cute, and not capable of self defense but we know full well this is not true. Yes, they are little and can be cute, but as all animal-lovers are aware, all animals are given some sort of defense mechanism...skunk's mechanism is one most people dread (everyone but Shadeaux, that is). The skunk teaches the most persistent marauder that they may receive more than what is bargained for if they don't back off! And as you may suspect, that type of defense also can bring about an undeserved reputation.

I can't help it,every time I smell skunk,I just have to take a deep breath, and smile. And after all, all it is, is a type of musk.Honestly, though,I have never found any animal smell (body smells, not waste smells) offensive.Wet dog doesn't even bother me.(just felt the need to defend myself a little bit)
