dropped by......
.......but no one was home.

Goodness it's lonely around here.

Since last time:

In August I cut back from full time nights (watching kids sleep in an adolescent treatment center) to just Friday and Saturday nights.

I did that because my son started high school. He has Autism/Asperger's and needs a lot of support. Andrew is at one of those math/science magnet schools and it's not very close to home so I'm spending a lot of time driving back and forth. There's a bus, but it comes very early in the morning/late in the afternoon and the stop is five miles from home. He also has robotics club stuff after school sometimes. The school year is always a struggle, so if you're reading this say a little prayer for us.

Our daughter Laurie is 12 years older than Andrew. Recently her 18 year old car broke down and was not worth fixing. I had planned to buy a new car next year and give her my old Corolla. Just had to move things up a year. Working out the details to do that took awhile and we were pretty stressed, but it all worked out and I got a new Corolla. Nice having the new car since I spend so much more time behind the wheel these days!

I haven't heard anything about The Waiting in ages, but sure would like to.

So that's my little bit of pointless nattering on.........just wanted to make this space look a little lived in.

(((Hugs)))

Re: dropped by......
........here again for my quarterly drop in and again it looks deserted in here.......

Stopped in the new car to let some deer run across the road and while I was sitting there catching my breath from the close shave, something (presumably a baby deer), came out of the darkness and threw itself at my driver side door before disappearing again. The door was barely damaged, but the body shop soaked my insurance company for $1135 and kept the car for 10 days. It looks almost as good as new, but my nerves are a wreck. Finding a route in this part of Georgia where you aren't at risk for hitting a deer is practically impossible.

Got the car back in time to rush around and finish Christmas preparations. Thankfully we were blessed with lovely and peaceful family holidays.

I joined the Y around the beginning of November because I was feeling so much stress and dealing with it poorly. It's been going very well so far. However, "Stress" is definitely back in session! Andrew went back to school yesterday.....and this morning I already feel like I have an ulcer.

There, I've vented. So what's going on with you folks?
