the albanian kilt or the fustanella
as you know the fustanella or the famous albanian kilt is one of the most important parts of albanian culture of costumes...
the greeks use it too but it originated in albania .....
so,the greeks are using albanian kilt to represent their culture..
this is very interesting......? albaniagoto.virtualave.ne...tumes.html
The Koundouriotis family, which produced the first President of the Greek Republic, was Albanian, like many of Idra's early settlers, who fled here from the Turks in the 15th century. Despite popular mistrust of the Albanians today in the face of a new wave of immigration, elements of Albania have penetrated into Greek culture: the foustanella or kilt that's a part of the formal attire of Greek soldiers is based on Albanian fighting gear, and is sometimes referred to as the "Albanian kilt:"

Re: great job publicita
a great and an unbiass link .....
as you can see the greeks have adopted our culture and their national costume to go along with the first president in the history of hellas country that came from the konduriotis family....
i wonder what the greeks would say to this?
my answer is nothing cause they just dont like to face the truth and this reflects among their people even today.......
first greek president was an albanian..
greek national costume is albanian...
poor tourists go there and are fed only lies from the greeks ....
how pathetic can you get to deny the history of your forefathers......?
this is unbelieveable..........!!!!!!

Let me change the topic a "little bit....
since you've been cruising for a brusin' here lick your wounds a little bit.....this is strictly aimed at you since you insist so much... this s what the inventors of the famous fustanella and 'our first presedent" have resorted to..
Re: Let me change the topic a "little bit....
yeah,i saw this article at raiuno 2 days ago...
it pissed me off...
the kid's mother lived in the outskirts of tirana i think and the father traded him to the italian couple without the knowledge of the mother......
this is bullsh*t and they should jail the motherf***r who did this to his son for life....
by you showing this canaris doesnt mean that all albanians would do such a thing...
that's just a rare case...
i would kill anybody that ever come close to my kid.....
i cant believe this motherf***g moron had the guts to sell his own son....!
this kind of bullsh*t is very common in romania and moldova as well who happen to be poorer than albania for the time being....
do you see,we're third poorest country in europe and not last like a few years ago....
our economy is growing rapidly and hopefully this kind of garbage will not happen again bacause let's face it ,he proppably did it out of desperation from being poor....
i am born and tirana and grew up there and know very well the outskirts of the city..
i think the mom lived in lapraka which is a poorer part of our beautiful city.....along with bathore......
i live in tirana e re which is day & night difference......
this kind of garbage only happens in the poorer parts as you see.....
anyway ,why are you evading the topic canaris...?
that's greek history for you with albanian blood in it...
Re: Let me change the topic a "little bit....
Canaris, that was rather pathetic dont you agree, instead of refuting our claims with eventual evidences you decide to throw dirt at us with something that is totally irrelevant to the topic.
this whole forum is pretty pathetic recently
including the manner in which this whole topic was posted.

poor tourists go there and are fed only lies from the greeks ....

I posted facts not fairytales..how come you guys can throw crap at us but it's ashame for us to throw back any.... Dijedon answer me.....you I have some respect for but Kavajs is a maggot provocatuer who has to be reminded often so he can stay on track..We have been through this topic about the fustanella over and over, then these dickheads come here and start all over again..what I'm trying to say here there is other more serious issues out there than the fustanella...like people selling their kids for a tv set.Digedon you should stay out of this.......one.
Re: what type of answer does this deserve..
Well if you think this topic is lame/outdated tell it to them/complain to aadmin/moderats or whatever but to go out of topic and posting things such as the one you posted are ridiculous. I to have respect for you and I know/expect for you to do better than to behave like a hyena and throw dirt at us.
If you wish open a different thread about that boy, somewhere we can discuss it instead of here.
This topic is about the origin of the white kilt and not about prostitution. Let's proceede in a civil manner and not in a hysterical cat-fight out of topic, a competition on who's the best to throw dirt.

you reap what you sow..
Don't expect kid glove treatment if you guys provoke...
The internet is filled with negative subjects about people and certain nationalaties..I don't go and keep pasting them for you guys to see..because that is provokement,so stop provoking and the same will be done in return. You want to post your illusions about the fustanella go ahead, but like DHF said it's the manner it was posted..calling greeks liars and so forth...so like I said before and I 'll say again "people that live in glass houses should'nt throw rocks"
Re: you reap what you sow..
The pafrt were he called 'you' liars may be exaggerated however I dont see what's provocing about studying the origin of the kilt?
This is a topic about fustanella's, not prositution period!
I'm not forbidding you to 'provoce' however the way you provoce is childish and immature since the article you posted is absolutely irrelevant to the topic.
If him saying you're liars did hurt you so much then proove him wrong, keep it clean and not hysterical posting irrelevant articles with the pretext that they provoced you!
Indeed people that live in glass-houses should not throw stones, I think this accounts for some of your fellow greeks aswell!
Could anyone of the moderators now erase our replies so we can return to the old topic and give Canaris another chance to fight in a more clean way?
And Kavajs&co, ruajeni gjuhen, behuni me diplomatik sepse ndryshe keta do te gjejne detajin me te vogel per te bere shaka me neve dhe per ta shnderruar kete teme ne diqka irelevante dhe jasht temes, kuptoni?

The first president of the republic..
1828-1831: Ioannis Kapodistrias(our first president)
1924-1926: Amiral Pavlos Koundouriotis
Re: The first president of the republic..
1929-1935 alexandros zaimis
this is great stuff...
zaimis is not greek at all but rather albanian..
my best friend's father is named zaim...
zaim is an albanian name ...
translation ZAIM=ZA+IM meaning my voice in geg albanian...
i told you canaris but you dont believe me my friend...
it's in your history man,so face it..
albanians have ruled hellas country in at least 2 different occasions...
it's interesting how alexandros zaimis became the president righ after koundiriotis...
you know two albanians back to back...
i dont think it's a coincidence...
i think he was set up to become konduriotis back up in case he retired from politics...
i would not be surprised if he was konduriotis vice persident...
i am not provoking anybody or anything here but simply speaking the truth...
greetings!!!!!!Edited by: kavajs at: 10/5/03 6:06 am
Re: are you the one who says :
papandreou
papa+ndreu{geg name}=papandreu
papa+andreou=papaandreou
do you see, only the albanian one makes sense and not the greek version....
my brother's best friend last name is ndreu and he is from central albania....
what kind of a last name is fatherson...?
it simply doesnt make sense!
gjin bue shpata was not a tosk my friend ...
albanians in greece are both tosks and gegs....
zaim is also a very common name in the south of albania..
zaim is deffinitely an albanian name, without a doubt!
ask any albanian and he will tell you!
ther's nothing to be ashamed of doublefalcon...
facts are facts wether you like it or not....
no
it will have to suffice to say that you are full of crap on this.
how can anyone say the name papandreou is an albanian name? where can one POSSIBLY come up with this? This is like me saying that Jack Nicholson is Greek because his last name has the letters "nic" in it.
If anything then, the name "ndreu" or whatever is greek in origin, because "andreous" "anrdreu" "andros" "anthros"
"anthro" is a suffix or prefix of Greek origin
Quote:facts are facts wether you like it or not....
What facts? facts that you make up? go up to these people and say "you are albanian" see what happens. this is ridiculous, can you believe how lexopathologists and linguists will laugh if you tell them papandreou is a gheg name.
and yes, possibly there are some ghegs who entered greece. labs are partially descent of ghegs, however tosks were most predominant, 95 percent at least, and the arvanite dialect is partially intelligible with TOSK and NOT AT ALL intelligible with GHEG, according to Peter Trudghil the author of "Language and Culture" which shows a study on Arvantika

theres already been such topic
in the greek forum and this forum. the one on the greek forum is probably still there collacting dust. if you kavajs wish to continue this, find the previous thread and start posting.
Re: hey shpata
i am talking about the albanian kilt or the fustanella and not the greek one so this obviously belongs to the albanian forum, correct?
why does this topic bother you,i mean you are albanian ,am i right?
this topic should not bother any albanian....
it obviously bothers you and this my friend gives me an interesting thinking....COULD SHPATA BE A MIXED BREEDE ?
very possibly so by his origin and his thinking in this forum concerning the albanians and the greeks....
i mean shpata ,are you for real my friend..?
there is not even one single pure albanian out there that has love for the greeks, not one single one...
that is obviously not the case with you and i would doubt if you were a rare bird in the big cage...

so according to you..
all pure bred albanians hate greeks......you are so full of crap that the world looks brown to you.I know a lot of albs that are pure and they love greeks..how you explain that?Have you ever even known a greek?Have you ever been to greece?Proabably not.
Answer me this moron,if Koundouroitis was alb,why did he love the greeks so much?
Quote:there is not even one single pure albanian out there that has love for the greeks, not one single one...
That's not true kavajs, sorry. I've lived in Greece for more than 4 years, and you know what, greek people, if they are not influenced by their media, are nice. Greek media back then (I don't know nowdays) sucked. All they did was talking against albanians. They used to blame the albanians for everything bad that happened in greece, which wasn't true. But smart people in Greece didn't believe that.
I don't believe there are bad or good nations. The politicians, I think mess up everything. People, if there is peace, have no reason to hate each other. If they hate each other or fight with each other, believe me, they are just victims of the propoganda. As the matter of fact, we, albanians and greeks used to get along very well with each other. We use to live in peace since the ancient times, starting from Illyrians and ancient greeks.Never had any problems until the megalidea started in greece, and that was the greek shovinists, and not the greek people, so we have no reason to dislike or hate greeks, or every other nation in balkan and world. And I don't think they have any reason to dislike or hate us either...
