Re: XEIMAPPA / HIMARA Greek speaking community in ALBANIA
That's what you are confusing here, Karta. Himara and the so called Vorio-Epir, it is not a political problem at all. It is just an nationalistic issue raised by greek nationalists, and if you're smart, you know why. On the other side, of course albanian nationalists will raise the problem of albanian minority in Greece, so sounds like what comes around goes around, and this will continue forever if you guys don't stop that Vorio-Epir "issue". You got to understand something, the history of every nation of Balkan is so mixed with the other nations of Balkan, that sometimes you can't even draw lines. Think about it, for more than 400 years Balkan was part of the ottoman empire, not mentioning the Byzantine empire. I guess trying to draw these lines which not exist brings all this counfusion and arguing with each other...

Albquitman: what what will u here about greek minority wrc.lingnet.org/albania.htm
Greek (5%)
"The Greek minority, Albania's largest, has deep roots in the country's two southeasternmost districts, Sarandė and Gjirokastėr, in an area many Greeks call Northern Epirus. Estimates of the size of the Greek population in 1989 varied from 59,000, or 1 percent of the total (from the official Albanian census); to 266,800, or 8 percent (from data published by the United States government); to as high as 400,000, or 12 percent (from the "Epirot lobby" of Greeks with family roots in Albania). Greeks were harshly affected by the communist regime's attempts to homogenize the population through restrictions on the religious, cultural, educational, and linguistic rights of minorities. Internal exile and other population movements served as instruments of policy to dilute concentrations of Greeks and to deprive Greeks of their status as a recognized minority. Despite improvements in Greco-Albanian relations during the late 1980s and a significant increase in cross-border visits, reports of persecution, harassment, and discrimination against Greeks, as well as other minorities, persisted" (Human Rights Report--1997).
Re: XEIMAPPA / HIMARA Greek speaking community in ALBANIA
Lol,
They demand rights but they ve forgotten their behaviour. So what do you want to prove that you want us to behave greeks as gods and you on the other hand to insult albanians. No you are very wrong my friend!!!!The world is like a russian roulet one time you are lucky but the other time when you do not expect it everything collapses,we are making progress and you should know that our economy progress for 2003 was 6%(this was given by America)and for this year is expected to be 7% on the other hand yours is 3%!!!I do not like people like you that are extremists and think that are better!!!People like you wont have a good ending!!!And i will say you something I am very very very proud to be an albanian,it is an honour for me to be from albania,so stop saying albane in an tone very bad because for me it is a very holy world,it is my country, where i belong!!!!I like my country!!!Isn't this logicall!!!!
Karta...
What you copied and pasted here is ridicolous, and I'm sure that's of a greek source...but you know what, I don't want to do the same as you, becuase if I copy and paste like you what some of this puppet websites say about Greece, you won't touch your computer for a month.
You better believe us who have lived there, and not some people that want to keep their jobs by writting that kind of stuff about Albania and other countries...

You got your answer from Himara in the ellections didn't you?
Do you know himaras temple? in albanian named "kala". Everyone knows that this temple whas deticated to Apollonas and many more temples in Vouthroto (butrint) are deticated to ancient greek gods please can you explain how can this be? I'm sure tha you have an answer for this, probably Zeus, Apollonas and Athina where albanians.

we didnt name it kala, your ancestors did. why its a hellenic one? because ancient epirus was inhabited by greeks. simple.
however you should take a DNA test, seeing your faces you have a much better chance for passing for a montenegrin than a greek. gheg-like faces and anti-albanian.

i already answered you. its weird talking to an albanian thinking of himself as a pure greek.
Ok
You know man it's also weird that al albanians in himara are calling us "grek". Probably they know more than you do. And something else why all albanians in greece are saying that they are from "voreio ipiri" (as they say) and are trying to get the identity as greek homogenous. Maybe the most albanians feel ashamed about they origin.
