Georgi Kastriot - Makedonec
The only reason why we allowed that statue is bcs we respect Gergi Kastriot- Iskender (he was never skenderbeg, you see) too,as a famous Slavic-born king of Epir & Makedonija. He was pure Sloven, and in those times in Albania (15cntry) only Sloveni lived. He was Pravo-slaven christian king who fighted against the muslim expansion in Macedonia.I.e. - he fighted against the ottomans and their arnaut killers, namely - you.Just read any paper on him. They usually start with the words : "The Sloven Georgi Kastriot...etcetc"
And now you cherish your executor...i find it very ironic, but what can you do when you have noone slaven (famous) enough to cherish, so u must borrow from the previous inhabitants of your Albania - the Sloveni.Just ask your Slavic toponims all over Albania and you'll see.
Re: Georgi Kastriot - Makedonec
We are not "claiming' Georgi Kastriot. You cant claim something thats yours.Dont argue with me - go investigate some neutral sources and you'll see.He was from a Mijak/Sloven family, his mother name was Voislava and his father name was Ivan.Does these names (along with Georgi)sound Albanian or Macedonian?
Do you think it's by chance that the Turkish sultan nick-named him Iskander?Iskander is a Turkish variant of Aleksandar, and the sultan gave him reckognition for his war succes in this way - he was the second Aleksandar Makedonski - both by ethnic heritige and war ingenuosity.
I mean this is very well known in the world. You can miss this info only if it's hidden from you or if you conciesly decide not to see it.
Go check some neutral sources, read some papers on him written in his time and you'll see.I told you, they ussually start with the words "The Sloven Georgi Kastriot...etc".
-----------------
"Being shocked and increasingly concerned, I struck the village mayor when I heard him speak Bulgarian, which he wishes to call Macedonian, and I recommended that in the future he should always and everywhere speak only Greek, and that he should recommend that his villagers do the same." Greek Infantry Lieutenant Dim. Kamburas, Armensko, January 25, 1925.
---------
"...I asked him what language they spoke, and my Greek interpreter carelessly rendered the answer Bulgare. The man himself had said Makedonski. I drew attention to this word and the witness explained that he did not consider the rural dialect used in Macedonia the same as Bulgarian, and refused to call it by that name. It was Macedonian, a word to which he gave the Slav form of Makedonski, but which I was to hear farther north in the Greek form of Makedonike". Allen Upward, The East End of Europe. London, 1908, pp. 204-205.

Re: Georgi Kastriot - Makedonec
Guys he did great things for the Albanians and Albania, but that doesnt meant that you shoud forget that he was Slavic-born ...
Let me rephrase it...we find that statue welcomed too bcs we respect him too.Why politicans this or that - bcs they are politicians.Am talking about the ppl.

Rex, i think Albania should give the same rights to the Macedonians in Albania, dont you think? It's gotta be from both-sides,otherwise its useless.
P.S.
Robby, dont you just love alb trilogy, how uneducated and stupid and arrogant he is at the same time? You gotta love this man...he makes u wander whether his just stupid or STUPID !!!

what ,the few villages on Albanian side of prespa...they have same as everybody....
it is the slavic macs that dont get along with the albanian slavs ....they pick on them and throw them out of markets in Shkup and Manastiri and Resen ....
the Shalle (their nicknames) come to sell goods in markets in Macedonia....
and when they come to macedonia they hide their slav language and use the Albanian language that they speak better than me ....to hide from mac slavs persecution..
and when they come to smaller villages they stay at Albanian homes ...never slavic homes...
maybe you dont know this...ask around...ask in Prilep
the slavs from Albanian are scared as hell to go to Prilep
Please do not try to be serious, it is less amusing then when you are trying to be funny.

Oh, I'm sorry. I posted in the wrong thread.
I saw the first pictures of coneheads and I thought this thread was being dedicated to the conehead population of the Balkans.
For 5 cents a day, you to can own an Albanian Child. (As seen on tv).

That is a picture of my father speaking at the family picnic (right before we roast three pigs and shoot 4 Siptars)*.
*Siptars were not eaten, but were fed to the dogs.
