"Aye. I'm alright." The silken fey's voice tremebled with a barely supressed rage, a fury that insisted that she should give chase, and give the beta the dressing down that he deserved. She had done naught to provoke the attack, and it was unfair that he should try to harm her.
After a moment more of glaring after the dark brute, the fey turned and looked at Idrian, fury making her eyes smoulder like coals banked to be coaxed back into a fire at a later point. "Deacon is no fool," the fey spat. "Though I fail to see why he allows that...that...JERK to stay!" Anger with the midnight hued brute, and anger at her own percieved weaknesses made the fey's vocals sharper than they needed to be. Realizing this, she softened her tones. "I apologize, Idrian. I have no quarrel with you."

Idrian smiled. "I understand...he...has a way to work one's nerves..."
He shook out his coat again, visibly calming. "I know that we have no quarrels with each other. But perhaps we should lend our Alpha our eyes in watching Jorn."

"I believe that is a wise idea, my friend...we should both keep an eye on the brute." Almost to herslef, she muttered, "'twould be a blessing should he manage to vanish from our lives."
Shaking her head, she sat and licked at a paw, in a cat like manner, soothing her ire with her ritual of grooming. She curled her tail about her haunches, and continued to groom herslef silently, slowly letting the ire drain form her lithe form.

Idrian stretched, feeling the tension melt from the air with Jorn's passing. His tail waved lazily. "Perhaps he will not be too dangerous with two and a half sets of eyes on him." He smiled, his tongue lolling out over his teeth. The vague light caught in his dead eye and danced in its milky swirls.

She offered another smile, feeling more at peace. "So, tell me about yourself, idrian. I don't know anything about you, besides that you're a former alpha."
She found this male nteresting. It was a good thing.
Re: Chasing the darkness {{AW}}
"There is not much to tell." He replied. "I would not have it thought I disregard my own history-so I will give you the shorter version." He smiled vaguely. "The pack I was born into was destroyed when I was barely a yearling. I traveled until I met the Darkwalker pack-they took me on as an omega-it worked out well for them, their alphas had a large litter of pups that year...so an additional pair of eyes was welcome. I proved myself to them, though...and that much gave me rank." He stopped a moment, taking the time to sit down. "The following year, our alpha was overthrown by his beta-he was old, the beta, fresh enough. But his own rule was not to last long. In the spring, a litter of pups was born to him...but his arrogance and irresponsibility killed them...it almost killed the pack, so I killed him."
He was silent again for a moment. He remembered that fight all too well-the alphess' cry for help, even as despiration had turned the Darkwalkers in on themselves...he came through for the pack...but the victory had not come without price...his eye, the ear that was half gone, scars now covered by the thick bi-colored coat...it all remained with him.
"The alphess of the pack was relatively young, as was I. Because of the loss she endured and the fact that it was my fangs that avenged it, she chose me as her mate, and together we rebuilt the Darkwalker pack."
"But that is in my past now, and I am no longer Alpha, but Gamma, and glad enough of it." It was clear by his manner he wished to speak no more of it...not now, anyway.
