I feel the need to mention this... Girls you still have hope, it may be farther in the future than any of us would like to think, but there is still hope. If there is a good marketer out there, they will see the opportunity and hopefully they will grab it. I'm not saying I am THE WOMAN, but I know a heck of a lot more than I should about marketing given I'm only a second year student. However, I've been interested in marketing and entertainment for a long time, so let me just say this. Yes it's true there is a lot of legal junk to go through, HOWEVER, the legal aspect is the most expensive part of getting the play put onto a DVD. Once it's there then we get into marketing it, and that can take a lot of money, but putting it onto a DVD really doesn't cost much. As I said before a good marketer will see an opportunity for making money. In fact a good marketer will make a bucket of money from the play on DVD if it ever got there. My point is that from a marketing stand point, I say continue with the petition. Assuming one day it hits the right hands you're golden. I'm sorry to say that I don't know much about the issues concerning Plays to DVDs but I do know a heck of a lot about tv, movies, and cds, lol once again, more than I should. That combined with my marketing background tells me to tell you girls, DO NOT GIVE UP!! Sometimes out of the dark come the most "impossible" things, and with enough work, the impossible really isn't anything more than possible with two insignificant letters before it. So continue because I back you all the way, as a fan AND as an entertainment marketer!
PS I do realize this issue was dead so to speak for a while, but I just ran across most of the posts and my hackles raised to the ceiling, and just wanted to let you girls know what I thought about it... if anyone cares... LOL Ellie xx...

I don't know if it works the same way there, but if it does then the rehearsals leading up to the opening night are recording to fix little things and then opening night is recording for the actors to see. But if it is done the same way that I'm used to then it could also have been recorded over by now.
Re: WTNIF Petition
oh, that would be great - so we should have hope
there was a short report about the play and gillian on bbc, right? and in this, there were parts of the play - so it must exist a tape ... or do you think they just recorded short szenes???
we shouldn't give up!!!
