Re: The Chaser of Moons
*Daisy got her drink and went over to a vacant table and sat thinking on how to get to Pip's house quicker. She thiks so hard that she doesn't realize that Merry is behind her.*

Merry: Daisy?

Daisy: Huh? Oh Hi Mer. What are you up to?

Merry: Just walking about. Came to get a drink. The Green Dragon was closed today. They're moving stuff around so the place will look better.

Daisy: Oh...

Merry: So what are you doing here?

Daisy: I decided to stop by and get a drink before I go over to Pip's house.

Merry: You need company on your ride over?

Daisy: Uh... Sure why not.

*Soon enough Daisy and Merry left for Hobbiton. They strode up to Pip's house with his kids running around. The two boys came up to Daisy and hugged her, and Merry.*

*Pippin runs out of his home as soon as he hears his children yell. He goes over to Daisy, and Merry. Hugs the both of them, and invites them in the house to have a cup of tea.*

Pip: So... Daisy. How have you and Legolas been?

Daisy: Pretty good. Big surprise we're still together, huh?

Pip: Actually I always knew you two would be together for all eternity.

Daisy: Really?

Pip: Yes. I'm being honest so you know.

Daisy: I know. I know. I was just kidding.

Pip: Merry, have you and Meri gotten married yet?

Merry: No. We're still waiting, till next year.

Re: The Chaser of Moons
*Elawen awoke the next morning in a small room with yellow painted walls and bright curtains. She lay there for a few moments, rather confused over where she was. The last thing she remembered was rain and the dark. She had been riding somewhere, with a strange man, who had saved her life...
Getting up, she peered out of the window. Where was she? A cobbled street was filled with carriages and carts rumbling across, people busy selling their goods and yelled out their wares at the top of their voices. From somewhere down the street came some yells and a young boy ran by, clutching something to his chest. He was followed by two burly men who seemed very angry.
Elawen turned away from the window and went to the dressing table. Her stomach was telling her that she hadn't eaten for sometime, and this was a good time to fill it up. She critically looked at her reflection. Pity Fëanàro wasn't here...he had all her clothes with him. Shrugging, she cleaned up her muddied clothes as best as she could and pulled a comb through her tangled hair.
The morning room was empty at this time of the day, save for one man sitting in a corner booth reading a paper. Even though he was sitting, Elawen could see that he was rather tall. Almost as if he felt her glance on him, the man lowered the paper.
Elawen found herself staring into a ruggedly handsome face which was stern and whimsical at the same time, framed by dark hair neatly brushed back. Gray eyes steadily met the golden-brown ones with a slightest hint of amusement in them. The light in the room suddenly shifted, and she felt a vague jolt of suprise as she realized the eyes were blueish, not only gray. The face itself seemed vaguely familiar.
The man raised a hand and motioned her to come and sit with him. Elawen weaved her way around the tables to sit with this strange man.*

Man: Good morning. Did you sleep well?
Elawen:*taken-aback slightly* Yes, I did. And you?
Man: Quite well, thank you. Would you like something to eat?
Elfie: Err..yes please.
*She took the menu he offered her, but peered over the top at this funny man who asked elves to come eat with him*
Man:*noticing her stares* Is something wrong?
Elfie: It's just that, you look rather familiar.
Man: *in an injured voice* I'm hurt. You've already forgotten me..well its has only been one night since we met, so I think I can forgive you.
Elfie: You're Strider?
Strider: Yes. Why the shock?
Elfie:*unthinkingly* Well, you're a lot more handsome than I thought you were. *She clapped her hands to her mouth, her eyes rueful*
Strider:*bowing his head* Thank you. You're as beautiful as I heard you'd be.
Elfie:*blushing slightly* Um. Thank you.
Strider:*pleasantly* Not at all. Tell me, how old are you? You don't seem to be one of those thousand year elves.
Elfie: I'm not. I'm 16.
Strider:*eyes widening, but retaining that lazy voice* 16?!That's awfully young to be out alone.
Elfie: I think I told you why..last night. I'm sorry, I can't remember much about what happened. But tell me, why did you come to rescue me?
Strider: I was waiting for some..friends..of mine to come by. A solitary figure, that too one which could walk with grace across muddied fields, does stand out. And its a good thing I did come.
Elfie: Yes..I never thanked you.
Strider: It's quite alright. Next time, don't be wandering off like that on stormy nights.
Elfie:*abashed* Yes sir.
Strider: *amused* Cheer up, young one. So where are you off to now?
Elfie:*shrugging* No where I guess. I don't really know where to go.
Strider:*frowning* Then I think you'd be safest with me. If you don't mind a hard living, I'd like you to come along with me.
Elfie:*curiously* Are you a Orc-slayer?
Strider: *laughing* Indeed I am!!
Elfie:*happily* Then I will come! *By now her meal had arrived at the table. She fell to, eating like a young wolf.*
Strider:*watching her* When did you last eat?
Elfie: Oh few fnights ago. *She finished eating adn repeated her sentence* A few nights go.
Strider:*startled* Now I'm convinced, you are coming with me! if nothing, I'll teach you how to survive in the open.
Elfie: Do you know my father?
Strider: What makes you ask me that?
Elfie: Just the way you spoke of him last night I suppose.
Strider: Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. We're old friends. *He noticed LightShaft hanging by her side* Tell me, do you know how to use that thing?
Elfie: Ofcourse I do! My brothers, Ellodan and Elrohir, taught me how to fight. *She added naively*I'm very good you know.
Strider: *smiling*I see. Well come along, lets get going. I have to meet some people now.
Elfie: I need to get my horse.
Strider: Where is he?
Elfie: At an inn..The Bree Pots.
Strider:*frowning* I'll get him. That place is not safe. They'll skin you alive.
Elfie: My horse won't listen to you.
Strider:*looking at her for some time* Hmm. Alright. Come along. Get your things, I'll pay the bills.
*Elfie hopped up and ran up to her room. She emerged a few minutes later to meet Strider at the foot of the stairs.*
Elfie: You know, I'm rather glad I met you. Its more fun when there's someone to talk to on a journey.
Strider:*gravely* I agree. I'm glad we met to.
*They walked out of the inn together. Many heads turned in the streets to see the slender young girl skip along, keeping pace with the tall handsome man whom many were secretly afraid of. The man bent down and said something to the girl, which made her laugh delightedly.
Soon afterward, the two left the city of Bree, Strider mounted upon a big black horse and Elawen upon a gleaming white one that tossed his head proudly as he walked through the streets.*

*The afternoon sun shone down brightly on the two riders as they cantered through fields that had been nothing more than mud holes. Stalks of bright yellow corn swung in the fields. The wind blew gustily, tossing Elfie's dark hair about. Something in that wind made the imp in her mind come out and she raced her beautiful white stallion against Strider's black, hers usually winning. Laughing, she galloped off ahead, always returning to ride beside her new friend. The adventures of last night seemed far away and they did not trouble her thoug

Re: The Chaser of Moons
"Woah, there," Silver said to her horses. They stopped and she pulled out a map. "Now let me see... Hobbiton is right here, Bag End is over there, the Green Dragon is over that way, and a little Hobbit lad should be right about..." She lowered the map and pointed her staff at a spot on the ground at the side of the road. "There."

There was a rustling in the bushes, and a young Hobbit, probably 20 years old, popped out and stood right at the spot on the road.

Ellie left Bree as the sun was rising over the lip of the Hill. Humming to herself, she headed south into the forests.

Re: The Chaser of Moons
*Elawen sat on the green grass under a big tree and watched her friend talking with some other men who reminded her of him. They too were tall and had the same clear eyes and dark hair. She could see that Strider was a man of some importance, the way the others deferred to him. Resting her chin on her knees, she listened to him low, musical voice.
A few moments later, Strider came over and smiling, sat down beside her.*

Strider: Well, I've sent word to your father that you are now with me. It should help ease his worry. Anyway, would you like some lunch?
Elfie:*eagerly* Rather! All that riding has made me hungry.
*Laughing, Strider lit a small fire. Under that tree, the two made a quick meal of bacon and tomatoes.Elfie lay back on the grass and listened to the wind blowing through the trees, her eyes half-closed. Strider smoked his pipe and unnoticed, watched the elf*
Strider: *abruptly*Would you like to come with me into the Wild?
Elfie:*startled* What?
Strider: Well you said that you wanted to avenge yuor mother's death. I don't think its safe for you to roam in the Wild alone. You'd be better off if you came with me.
Elfie:*doubtfully* But wouldn't that inconvience you a lot?
Strider:*blowing out smoke thoughtfully* Not really. You are a rather skilled warrior, that much I can tell from your stance, but you lack experience. I think it would be best if you stayed with me for a while. Get accustomed to the outdoor life before wandering off no your own.
Elfie:*shyly* I would love to, if you don't mind having me along.
*Strider smiled at the young girl and got up*
Strider: Then its settled! We ride together!

"Of course I am," the Hobbit boy said.

"Then I guess that I must be a wizard as well!"

"What is that in your cart?" he asked pointing.

"Fireworks." Silver answered simply. "Might I ask your name?"

Re: The Chaser of Moons
Elfie: *eagerly* So do we go hunt those foul things now??
Strider: We will first pay a visit to a friend of mine..Bilbo Baggins.
Elfie:*wrinkling her nose* Baggins? What a strange name! What is he?
Strider: I presume you're referring to his race. He, my dear elf, is a hobbit.
Elfie: A hobbit???
Strider: The Halflings.
Elfie: Oooo...the little people!! Come to think about it, I think my father mentioned someone called Bilbo once. Didn't he kill a dragon or something?
Strider: Indirectly, yes he did. Well come on. It's a long journey and I want reach by tommorow evening latest.
Elfie: You're talking as if I'm the one slowing you down! My horse can easily outrun yours.
Strider:*rolling his eyes exaggeratedly* Why must I be caught with self-sufficient elves!
*Elawen stuck her tongue out at him and whistled loudly. Her gleaming horse trotted upto her, prancing about like a pony.*
Strider: He's a nice one. What's his name?
Elfie:*shaking the horse's bridle playfully* Fëanàro..it means Spirit of Fire.
Strider: Yes. He's rather impressive.
Elfie: Mmhmm. What's your horse's name?
Strider: Voronwe.
Elfie: Loyalty or faithfulness. It's rather nice.
Strider: I think so too. Well shall we go, my lady?
*The two trotted off into the woods, heading towards the Shire. Elfie began to sing an elvish song, her clear voice echoing. The heady smell of grass and hundreds of flowers surrounded them*

"My name name is Frodo. I live in bag end with my Uncle."

"Really?" Silver looks at her map again. Without looking up at Frodo she says, "Tell your uncle to prepare for three visiting guests."

"Who?"

"He will see. Now, which way is Bag End?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Well, if I'm going to take you home, I need to know how to get there!"

Re: The Chaser of Moons
*The sun was setting on the second evening since they had left that glade. Elawen sang softly to herself the evening songs of the Elven Halls. The sun continued to sink, covering the lands with a soft darkness. A little below them, warm golden lights blazed out. They had reached the Shire!
Elawen sat up straighter in her saddle, gingerly stretching her neck. Strider watched her, amused*

Strider: What's this?
Elfie: What's what?
Strider: An elf tired of riding..this is something new.
Elfie: *crossly* For your information, I am not tired. My neck was just feeling a little stiff.
Strider:* openly laughing* Nay child, don't get angry with me! Don't worry, we're almost there. It won't be long before you can rest in front of a nice warm fireplace and eat some wellmade food. Hobbits are known for their lavish tables.
Elfie: *grumpily* How much more time? I feel dirty, and I want a bath.
Strider: Not more than another fifteen minutes, I'd reckon.
Elfie: Let's gallop.
*Without waiting for his assent, she urged Fëanàro into a gallop. Behind her, Strider exploded in a curse and dashed off in pursuit. The two raced across the grassland, one silver streak and the other a black shadow.
Within a few minutes, they were at the edge of Hobbiton. Elawen reined in Fëanàro, waiting for Strider to catch up, her eyes dancing.*

Elfie: Well, do you think I'm still tired?
Strider:*in a long suffering tone* Not really. I'm just thinking what on earth made me offer to take you along to train.
*Elawen's face fell. The dancing twinkle in her eyes died away, replacing by a look of uncertainty and hurt. Strider, chancing to look at her, was suprised by the change that had come over her. A gerat feeling of remorse came over him.*
Strider: I wasn't serious, my dear. I wouldn't have left you alone in the wild for anything!
Elfie:*in a small hurt voice* Really? You didn't mean it?
Strider:* reaching over and catching her hand* Not at all, Elawen Peredhil. You are of too great a value for this world for that. Come let us ride down and give that fat old Bilbo a suprise.
*Smiling at Elawen, he trotted up the street. After a few moments, Elawen followed, the doubt and hurt erased.
They stopped at a green door with a yellow knob set in the center. Round windows looked out from the hillside, curtained and with warm lights burning behind them. Strider dismounted and knocked on the door.
There was the sound of hurrying feet and a latch turning. A small curly brown head poked out of the door.*

Strider: Greetings! I am here to meet Bilbo Baggins. Is he here?
Hobbit: Yes..yes he is. Please come in. Who might you be?
Strider: A friend of Bilbo..Strider, some call me. This is Elawen.
Hobbit:*doubtfully, for the names didn't mean anything to him* Well...if you really are his friends, then come with me. There's someone else here as well though. A lady..a wizard I think.
Strider: Oh. Well, take us to them, then. Who might you be?
Hobbit: Frodo...Frodo Baggins. I'm Bilbo's nephew and heir.
*He led the two Big People into a long drawing room. Comfortable looking chairs lay all around, with small tables at their sides. The walls were decorated with pretty pictures, some of people who looked remarkably like the old hobbit sitting in the room, and some of the countryside.
The old hobbit sat in the center of this room, with another person. This lady was dressed rather strangely...long robes flowing about. Frodo ushered Strider and Elawen in.*

Frodo: Some friends of yours to see you, Uncle Bilbo!
Lady:*in a low voice* Here are the other guests I was talking about, Bilbo.
*Bilbo Baggins jumped up and ran across the room to hug Strider. He was a curious little thing. Not very tall, with iron grey curls and hairy feet, Bilbo Baggins was the epitome of wealth.*
Strider: *turning to Elfie* And this, is Elrond's youngest daughter, Elawen.
*Elawen curtseyed to the strange little hobbit. Bilbo bowed and then looked critically at her*
Bilbo: Hmm..quite a goodlooking elf..even by their standards. How come she is travelling with you, Strider? Did you steal her from under Elrond's nose?
Strider: That only you would dare to do. Elawen decided to try the life in the Wild, and I'm just helping her out.
Elfie: I see what my father spoke of you is true, Master Baggins.
Bilbo: And that would be?
Elfie: That you're a busybody who talks the first thing on your mind.
Bilbo:*laughing in appreciation* He would! Come on, sit down, sit down!
*He indicated to some chairs near by.*
This is Veshwi Dragonchild..a Dragon Tamer from Elnador. Silver, this is an old friend of mine, Strider and the daughter of another old friend, Elawen.
Silver: Strider...what a strange name!
StrideR: Some people call me that...tis one of many.
SilveR: And yet the real remains hidden. And you, Elf-maiden, what does your name mean?
Elfie: Noble Star Maiden, Veshwi Dragonchild.
SilveR: *chuckling* Come and sit by me, both of you! It has been long since I have met two who felt no fear for me.

Re: The Chaser of Moons
Winter was coming, so Ellie headed southwards with the birds. The nights were cool, though the days still had some warmth. But, as she got steadily closer to the souther regions, the weather got slightly warmer. Rohan still had quite warm weather when she arrives in late fall. South Ithilien, where she planned to spend the winter, was even warmer. Finding a suitable cave to spend the winter, she began collecting food and firewood. One day, as she was wandering the woods, keeping an eye out for edibles, she saw some people in the distance. Not desiring human contact, she hid herself by climbing a tree. The group passed right underneath her. They were a group of armed men from Gondor, led by a tall, clear-eyed man that, despite his young age, had the quiet confidence of authority. Curious, she silently followed them from the canopy. They travelled eastward, towards the north-south road.
