Re: To be Immortal
Ah, next chapter. Sorry about the wait. I got Chapter 9 typed up and had it beta-read but I wanted to do the same thing with Chapter 10 before I posted 9. But I had this bad case of writters block. So, anyway...here ya go.

Chapter 9

Alayvia stayed in her room the rest of the day. She kept the door locked and let no one in for any reason. Not even Luninella or Nuinethia who had become her best friend. No one really suspected much, they figured it was because Alayvia could not tell Legolas they were to marry.
The next day Alayvia woke with the sun and washed her face and brushed her hair. She put on a simple sky blue day dress. Luninella knocked on her door. "I've brought breakfast. If you want I'll leave it at the door."
Alayvia went to the door and unlocked it. "Thank you." She took the tray. "Where is Nemin?"
"He is with the King. He will be all day. I can tell him to leave and visit you now if you wish to speak with him. Mehier can give him council on his own."
Secretly Alayvia breathed a sigh of relief. "No, Nemin needs the practice. I can talk to Nuinethia later."
"Would you like me to call for her now?"
"No. I'll find her later. Thank you." With that Alayvia went in her room and Luninella left. She was relieved that Nemin was busy today. She ate a little bit a food. She was still shaken up from yesterday and understandably so.
About an hour later, she left for the gardens. She thought maybe it would help her relax. She ran into Nuinethia there. "What's wrong Alayvia?"
"Nothing."
"Don't lie. Your terrible at it. You look depressed."
"I know. I really don't know why I'm so upset."
"Uh huh. Come here." Nuinethia enveloped Alayvia in a hug.
"Thanks."
"When you're ready to talk, I'll be ready to listen okay?"
"Thank you."
"Did you want me to stay with you?"
"No. I think I just need to be by myself."
"Alright. Just remember what I said."
"I will." With that the two went their separate ways.
Alayvia continued her walk. Sitting on the same bench as before was Legolas. She started to walk up behind him.
"Do you want to hurt me?" He stood up and turned around.
"Never. I just needed to talk to you."
"What about?"
"We can make it work."
"Are you saying I should be unfaithful to my future wife?"
"No. I think we can work things out."
"How? There is no time. I just found out that I am to marry her in 2 days. Her. I don't even know her name. Why? Why don't I know her name?"
"I don't know why. I'll I know is that true last always lasts. No matter what you put it through."
"Maybe we should just move on. We never really had anything did we?"
"Perhaps your right. About the moving on part. But there was something between us."
"I know. I'm just trying to deny it."
"Don't." Alayvia kissed him, deeply, passionately.
"Never forget me my love." Legolas sat back down stunned.
Alayvia left not quite sure if that was the right thing to do. She felt, though, it would keep Legolas' spirit alive.

Alright, I do have some truly evil ideas for my story. *evil grin* This is going to be fun.

Chapter 10

When Alayvia got back to her room, she just sat there on her bed. There was a knock on her door. "Yes?"
"I'm glad you let me in today."
"I'm sorry about before, Luninella. I just wasn't feeling myself I guess."
She put her hand to Alayvia's forehead. Here child, come sit by the fire. You seem cold. I'll be right back."
Luninella quickly left Alayvia's room and ran to the King's study. "Your highness."
"Yes. What is it Luninella?"
"Tis Alayvia, sir. I fear she is dying."
"What? Are you sure?"
"Quite. She has grown pale and is cold."
"Take me to her. Quickly."
The two went down the hall quickly. When they reached her room, they opened the door to find Alayvia staring blanking at the fire.
"Alayvia? Look at me." The King's voice was gentle. She did as she was asked. Thranduil touched her forehead and then her hands. He took a step back. It was true. "Alayvia, you need to tell us what is bothering you. Sometimes it helps if you talk about what is bothering you."
"But I am fine. Really."
"Then why are you passing?"
"Passing? I cannot be."
"But you are. What is bothering your heart?"
"Perhaps I shall be better once I am wed."
"We can only hope." Thranduil left followed by Luninella. At the door, he gave her some final instructions.
Luninella took a blanket out of the closet in Alayvia's room and out it around her. As if on cue another servant walked in with a tray of tea and soup. Luninella took the tray and dismissed the servant. She placed the tray on a table next to Alayvia.
"Try to eat dearest. I shall be back soon." Alayvia did as she was told.

After a few minutes of sitting on the bench, Legolas headed back to his chambers. His heart was breaking. He was almost at the point of passing, but he thought that if he did, so would Alayvia, and he did not want to be the cause of that. That was the only thing that kept him going.
When Legolas got back to his chambers, he saw Nemin standing there. Nemin was much more to Legolas than a servant or an elf to council him, they were best friends. "Nemin, do you know who it is I am to marry?"
"Yes, friend I do."
"So tell me her name."
"But that I cannot."
"Tell me about her than. Please."
"You will be happy with her. This much I know."
"I will only be happy with Alayvia."
"I think you will like her. Do you not trust your father?"
"Yes. I just want to know who the girl is first!"
"I would too. But there is nothing either of us can do about that."
"You can tell me."
"I cannot go against your father's wishes."
"Alright. I guess I will know soon enough."
"Yes. Keep your heart together. Trust me."
"How could I not trust you?"
He smiled. "Good evening friend. Perhaps I shall see you later." Nemin left. He turned down the hall, towards Alayvia's room.

Re: To be Immortal
And please, I want lots of reviews! I have a lot of chapters up, but my computer broke. I spent 2 days playing catch-up. Anyway....

Chapter 11

There was a knock at Alayvia's door. "Come in."
"So, two days, and then you are to be married."
"Ne..Nemin." She jumped up from her seat on the couch and stood at the end opposite from Nemin.
"What? You looked surprised to see me."
"I'd rather you not be here."
"Why? You'd rather it be your precious Legolas?"
        "Anyone but you."
"I'm hurt." The two had begun to circle around the couch.
        "No, you hurt me."
        "What are you suggesting?"
"That you leave! You're not wanted here!" Alayvia knocked a spoon off the end table and she didn't stop to pick it up.
        "I will never leave."
"Please, don't do this. You can't."
        "I can and I will."
Nuinethia appeared at the door frame. "Alayvia? Nemin?"
Alayvia breathed a sigh of relief. "Nuinethia."
"Yes, I am here. Nemin, if she asked you to leave, respect that and do so."
"Alright." Nemin trudged out of the room but not before giving Alayvia a stirring glance.
"My brother. I wish he had some sense."
        "We all so."
Nuinethia set loose a quick laugh. "Well, I was not especting that from you that is for sure. Come now. Rest. Tomorrow there as a lot of work to be done."
"What would I do without you Nuinethia?"
        "I do not know."
"What will I do when I marry Legolas?"
"We will never have to find out. I have been training since I was very little to be the servant and counselor of Legolas' wife."
        "Really?!"
"Yup. I got my practice on the royal female guests as they are called. And now all my training is paid off. "
        "What wonderful news!"
"Well, my brother unfortunately is to be Legolas' couselor and man-servant." Alayvia's smile faded. "If fact, he already is. My father is now solely tending to the King. My training is done when you get married."
        "Oh."
"So you do not like the idea of Nemin being Legolas' man-servant?"
        "Not really."
"Well, I apologize. I will do my best to keep him in line."
        Thank you. Good night."
"Good night." Nuinethia blew out the candle and Alayvia fell fast asleep.

The next day, Alayvia awoke with a start. "I'm getting married tomorrow."
        "Yes you are."
"Nuinethia! What are you doing here?"
"It's almost lunch. I came in to check on you."
        "I can't believe I slept that late."
"Well, you did. Hurry, there is a lot of wok to be done today."
        "Like what?"
"Final fittings, decorations, just generally making sure everything is right."
"Alright." Alayvia groggily rolled out of bed.
"It seems as if you are feeling better."
"How could I not be happy?" Deep down she was afraid, but now she was getting married. The happiness she felt out weighed what Nemin had done. But she had forgotten one thing. "Nuinethia?"
        "Yeah?"
        "Will my family be here?"
        "Yes. They arrive today."
"But my dad…who...who will walk me down the aisle?" I tear fell from Alayvia's eyes.
"My dad I believe. Is that alright?"
"Yes." She wiped the tear from her cheek. "Nuinethia?"
        "Hmm?"
        "I miss him."
"I know." She cradled her friend in her arms. "It'd be alright."

Sorry I haven't replied, but I keep forgetting to visit this place. Soon I will have a reason to be in here all the time. I have a story, unrelated to LOTR or elves, and whatever other beings. It's a renaissance story.

The Queen of Windigate, Daisy Took. The King, is Legolas Greenleaf.

Re: To be Immortal
Thankks for all the reviews. There were some problems with chapter 13 so it may be awhile. The sooner Elfie can correct it, the sooner I can post it here.
Chapter 12

After a few minutes, Alayvia had calmed down enough to eat. Nuinethia brushed her hair and pinned a few strands of it back to keep it out of her face. Then the dressmaker came with the wedding dress and helped Alayvia get into it.
“A perfect fit”
“Yes you do look wonderful in it.”
“Thank you, Nuinethia.” Alayvia took a few moments to walk around in the dress to make sure it sat right. It seemed to glisten in the afternoon sun that was shining in through Alayvia’s bedroom windows. After a few more minutes of checks, Alayvia took the dress off and put in her closet and the dressmaker left.
“Alright, lets get you dressed and out of here.” Nuinethia helped Alayvia put on a light forest green day dress and re-brushed her hair. “Let’s head to the gardens to make sure everything is being set up right, ay?”

Legolas hardly got any sleep that night. What did Nemin mean by that last comment? Did Legolas know who it was? No, because the girl would have told him already. So who was it? He was getting married tomorrow to girl with an unknown identity, at least to him.

The two girls left Alayvia’s room for the gardens. They slowly walked down a hallway and opened up a set of doors that opened up over the garden were the ceremony was to be held. A few people were erecting a canopy of white flowers where The King was to stand along with Legolas and Alayvia. Even more flowers were placed around the garden. Rows of chairs were being lined up. The whole thing was so huge it took Alayvia’s breath away.
“Wow! It’s wonderful!”
“Yes. I’m glad you like it. Anything else you would like? Or want to change?”
“No thank you. I love it. The summer garden looks wonderful. Everything all in bloom.”
“Yes,Thranduil made it just for the summer festival and for weddings like this. It’s closer to the palace than all the other gardens so you can walk into the large dinning hall to get food and drink and then wander outside. That way, no part of the garden is taken up with tables.”
“Ah, that is a good idea.”
“Yes. Have you ever been to a wedding before?”
“Not in along time.”
“Alright, you will walk down theaisle right there with my father on you arm” she said pointing, “and will meet up with Legolas and his father. Mehier will let you go and sit down then. Then just repeat after the King when he tells you to. Then he will ask you if you take Legolas to be you husband and you just say ‘I do.’”
“I can do that.”
“Good. Now lets go meet mama.”
The two walked down the hall a few doors and Nuinethia knocked. “Mama?”
“Yes?”
“We are here.”
“Come in.” The two did as they were told. “I’m glad to see you feeling better,Alayvia.” No longer were we fear she might die, she thought. “Well sit down. Your mother and sister are here.” They walked in from another room next door.
“Mother! Leelia! How wonderful to see you again!” She ran up to hug her family.
“My daughter is getting married. I’m so happy.” A few tears rolled down her cheek. They all proceeded to sit down. They talked for what seemed hours until dinner was brought in. Then they continued to eat and talk. After that, Leelia, being only 14, was sent to bed so the 4 other women could talk.
Luninella passed around glasses foreverybody. Alayvia cautiously took asip.
“It’s alcohol.”
“Yes. It’ll help you relax. Enjoy it.” The four had fun but after a while, Alayvia stood up and dismissed herself. “I’m beginning to get tired now. I think I will go to sleep.”
“Glad to see that the drink relaxed you enough for you to sleep. Goodnight, Alayvia.” Alayvia hugged Luninella good night and told Nuinethia to say here.
“I can get into bed by myself tonight.” Then she went to her mother. “Good night, mom. See you on the morning.”
She left the room and walked down the hall to her room. When she was about to step inside, a hand spun her around. Legolas. “I will never forget you, melamin .” And then he gave her a long, passionate kiss and Alayvia absorbed every second of it. Needless to say, she slept well that night.

Hehehe...on of those lovely romantic ending that makes you giggle. All I have to say is......DON'T GET USED TO IT!!!!! :evil

Re: To be Immortal
I'd like to thank Elfie. She really helped me pull this chapter together.

That morning, Alayvia awoke before dawn. She couldn't sleep..the day's events weighed too heavily on her mind. Nuinethia was already waiting for her to begin the preparations for the wedding. Alayvia did as she was instructed and went to bathe. Time seemed to fly. Before she knew it, she out and sitting at the table in her room. There was a bowl of fruit there, waiting to be eaten, but she didn't feel hungry. She felt nervous. Very nervous. She also realized that sometime ago, her mother, sister, and Luninella had walked in and started making a big fuss over her. They started to dress her, laughing excitedly. Sometimes they were talking to her, giving her words of advice, but she didn't hear a word of it.
After a few hours, which felt like minutes to Alayvia, she was standing in front of the mirror. She blinked at the woman looking back at her...she barely recognized herself. Luninella had somehow dressed Alayvia and her daughter with the help of Michelle. Somehow, they'd managed to make her wear everything. Though her hair was up, a few pieces were left down to frame her face which covered her ears. White flowers had been woven into her hair and a small crown was set atop it all. She wore a dress of the purest white, stiff with starch and the satin shimmering. She looked like an elven princess.
Nuinethia had on a light lilac dress that complimented her blond hair and smoky blue eyes perfectly. It clung to the curves on her body gracefully, shimmering when she walked. Her hair was too piled atop her head like Alayvia, but woven in her hair were lilac flowers.
Nuinethia looked wonderful too. She was Alayvia's Maid of Honor.
Michelle was in tears at the sight of her daughter. Her daughter was becoming a Princess right before her very eyes. They led Alayvia down the hall to a staricase which she was to walk down and across the white carpet that had been rolled out. Mehier was standing there and Michelle and everyone else hugged Alayvia. They then left Alayvia to find their seats in the garden.
Nuinethia stayed there with Alayvia and the two looked over the balcony below. Alayvia's eyes fell on Legolas, a gasp escaping her. He looked so sad and nervous! Not to mention anxious, Alayvia reflected wryly. With him, stood Nemin.
She kept looking at Nemin, her face troubled. Suddenly, she heard strains of music She looked over her shoulder and noticed that Nuinethia was walking down the stairs. Mehier grabbed her arm and they followed suit.
Alayvia ignored all the stares from the crowd and smiled shyly at Legolas. His face was blank in suprise. Slowly, sheer joy spread over his handsome face. She finally reached the alter and took Legolas' hand. They turned around to face Thranduil. Alayvia couldn't remember much of the ceremony..all she remembered was Legolas and the way he looked at her.The next thing she heard was Legolas saying, "I do."
"And do you Alayvia promise to take Legolas Greenleaf as you lawful wedded husband,in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or for worse, for as long as you both do live?"
Alyavia stared into Legolas's brown eyes and saw the love in his eyes. Smiling, she cleared her throat and replied in a firm voice, "I do."
Thranduil smiled a pleased smile. "I here by pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." Which is precisely what Legolas did.
As they walked back down the aisle together, to the triumphant music that the orchestra was playing, about 10 people opened small decorative cages and out flew what seemed to be hundreds of multicolored butterflies all around them and the guests, finally disappearing into the sky.
The guests repaired to the dining hall, but Alayvia and Legolas stole away together. The dinning hall was in an open air room right under where Alayvia had waited to walk down the staircase. The couple stepped into a small room adjacent the dinning hall and waited for Thranduil to enter. They waited in silence.
Legolas started the conversation. ''So why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I couldn't. Like it?"
"Yes." Thranduil chose that moment to open the door. He smiled benevolently at them.
"Everyone is seated now. I'll tell you when to come out. Walk out just past the door frame and wait until I tell you to sit. Sit next to me on my left side." He walked out and stood behind the royal table. He motioned for the couple to step out. Thranduil tapped his glass with a spoon, waiting till all the guests had turned around to face them. Smiling again, he spoke in a loud clear voice.
"Good people of Mirkwood, I give you Legolas and Alayvia Greenleaf, heirs to the throne of Mirkwood!"
As Alayvia looked out at all the people standing up and cheering, it felt as if a huge burden had been removed from her shoulders.
