NO Orlando Bloom!!
I don't think Orlando Bloom would play a very good Gambit. I've seen alot of female Gambit fans that say Orlando Bloom should play Gambit in X3 and (even though I'll probably be yelled at for saying so) I think its because they have a crush on him and not because he would play the character well. He may be a good actor but as a Gambit I don't think so.He just dos'nt have the look. How tall is Orlando Bloom anyway? Gambit is suppose to be around 6 '2 in the comic books and considering I don't think they would make Gambit a kid in X3 so he'd have to be at least 6 feet tall.Also depending on how many years there will be between X2 and X3 he'll have to be a little older than Rogue. As a huge Gambit fan I would be very dissapointed if Orlando plays Gambit. I can't even think of who I would like to play Gambit in the movies but I'm sure they will pick the best choice so the character will stay true to form as they have done with the other X-men.
As for Depp.....lets just say I would rather have him stick to the movies he does best. For one, Gambit is suppose to be very athletic so we would need to see an actor play Gambit that is well built. I'm not saying that he'll be flipping all though out the movie but he has to be able to look like he could without a problem. Second, Depp has played very good characters in his movies but I just don't think he could play an action hero.

Good god, Orlando Bloom? That's horrible, he did fine as the elf, but Gambit is a rough and tumble kind of guy. He's not -supposed- to be cute, he's -supposed- to be rough.

Who do think should play the role of Gambit?
This is a really hard decision for me considering Gambit is my favorite charecter of Xmen. I will be extremely dissapointed if they keep cancelling him out of the movies. I can't really picture Depp, Bloom, or Franco playing Gambit. Collin Farrel and Matt Damon were some good suggestions. Matt Damon is a wonderful actor who I have always enjoyed. Collin Farrel considering I haven't seen many of his movies, he does have the look though.
The Bloke from La Femme Nikita?
I think his name is Roy Dupuis he played Michael in the TV series of La Femme Nikita, he's French/Canadian so he could pull of the French New Orleans thing that Gambit has going on.
He's also a bit taller than some of the other actors previously mentioned, I think some people forget Gambit is over 6,0ft tall. I know Wolverine is supposed to be short but Hugh is over 6,0ft, but I just can't imagine Gambit being played by a short dude.

like i said at anither post i dont think that orlando bloom would be good as gambit...A) hes too goody goody and sweet B) he uses the same acting skills in every movie he acts in and C) he just doesnt look like gambit...gambits all rough and unshaven and hot and stuff...i mean mr bloom is not bad looking at all but hes not gambit material... *orlando bloom fans please dont kill me *
