for the book l'm writing
hey, guys.
l finally got really interested in my writing again tonight, and made some real progress l think, especially with a creative part of the plot.
anyway, as part of the plot went, l wanted to write a spell (one to be used in the book itself, not to improve the book), so l did. sam thinks it's pretty good, and l hope so, but l wanted to run it by you guys first.
anyway, here goes: ( l wrote it myself, using a site on the meaning of colored candles. each candle corresponds to one of the four elements, and works into the plot really well. (l hope.))
"l call upon the south, spirit of the flame, heart of the one l seek. Grant me the will to do as l must, and bring him forth from past.
l call upon Red for strength, red for passion.
Red for love, spirit of the flame.
l call upon the east, spirit of the air, memory of the one l seek. Grant me the understanding to follow this path, and bring him forth from a time long gone.
Yellow for understanding, yellow for thought.
Yellow for memory.
l call upon the north, the spirit of the earth, body of the one l seek. Grant me the strength to bring forth the light, hiding in the mists of time.
Green for the physical shell, green for the earth.
l call upon the east, spirit of water, soul of the one l seek.
Grant me the strength of spirit to summon the spirit.
Blue for the spirit, blue for the emotions.
By fire, air, earth and sea,
this is my will, so mote it be."
anyway, this is it...
l hope it's okay, but it was my first attempt. also, l did my best to keep it to the wiccan way (actually, a new decision l made just now was to change one of the main characters (the one casting the spell) from wizard to wiccan,) but since l am wiccan, l'd rather this be respectful.
l know l've probably made errors, but that's why l'm posting this. if you spot anything glaringly wrong - l still have a LOT to learn - would you mind pointing it out to me?
l've got a rough images of the corresponding actions forming in my mind, but it's kinda vague, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to add it. l'll put what l have already, just for a base.
spread out a piece of black silk (dont ask me why, l couldn't picture any other color working, so yeah) four corners pointing east, west, south and north
place corresponding candles :
red on the south corner (for flame, and heart)
blue on the east (for water, and soul/emotions)
green on the north (for earth and the physical shell - the body)
and yellow on the west, for air and memory.
l haven't got past that, so anyway...
l hope this is okay - l tried... *winces*

there is a thread somewhere here about where esta and I spoke about what a spell feels like when writing or completeing it. I call it my tingle...one I feel all threw mny body. Relax and wait for the tingle when attempting to wriytew a spell.
(Laurie i will never forgive you if you give up writing...there is soooooo much potential there!!! keep at it....your such an ispiration!)
