tonight (Jan 15th) Tay will be opening for Sounds Under Radio at the Lucky Lounge in Austin... he plays at 8 and we play at 9, its free and free is always good. so if you're in the area, place come it'll be fun (the Lucky Lounge is at the corner of 5th and La Vaca in Downtown).

Tonight! Feb24
So tonight (Feb 24th- thurs), the ole Sounds Under Radio is playing at the Red Eyed Fly (www.redyeyedfly.com) in Austin Tx. Excuses for attendence are limited This is an 18 and up show, we play rather early (ie 8:45pm) and we will be serving punch and pie to all those that come... ok that last part is not true, but everthing else is and you will have a good time for sure... Tay will be there too, and you can hound him about the new record.

Just to let anyone interested in knowing know... this saturday March 12th, i'll be in Denton Tx at Andy's Bar (www.andyslivemusic.com) performing an acoustic show with one of my bandmates Bradley. And TAYLOR! We rarely do a full acoustic show, so this is going to be a real treat for us to get to do. Birthday Bash!
So you may or may not know this... but Sounds Under Radio officially
turned one year old last week, but due to the fact that is was smack
dab in the middle of SXSW we've waited until this week to celebrate.
Anyway, the point is this... we're having a party... a big party- this
Thursday (March 24th) at the Lucky Lounge at 9:30pm. We're going to
be playing some music, drinking some drinks and eating some cake (that
is if someone actually decides to bring a cake... I can make some mean
migas but i'm an awful desert chef). So bring yourself, bring your
friends, bring your friends friends and maybe some presents if you
feel so inclined (Sonny always likes new snare drums, Doug likes new
pedals, Bradley likes keyboards and I need a new microphone). Ok, we
sincerely hope you can come celebrate with us.
Also, Thanks to all that voted for us in the Austin Chronicle Readers
poll! We placed as the 6th Best New Local Band in Austin...
seriously, thanks to everyone that placed our name in that little box,
it means a lot.

American Idol makes my shoulder sore
So ok...
When I was 17, I tore my rotator cuff playing varsity baseball (yes I'll admit it, I'm a musician who at one point in his life played a sport... so yes, go ahead... point your fingers and laugh at me and my past... but I'll tell you what- Dragon's never cry!). Anyway, after one surgery, months of rehabilitation, and a subsequent re-tear of said rotator cuff all I really have to show for the whole mess are two smalls scars on my right shoulder and the ever so charming ability to know when it's time to change a television channel by the burning dart like sensation that surfaces in my arm when things begin to pollute my consciousness. This is all to say that I turned on the tele this evening, watched about 5 minutes of American Idol and quickly had to find the Icy Hot because my shoulder hurt quite badly. That being said.... we have some FREE shows this weekend- and while I can't promise you that your ears won't bleed, I can assure you that your shoulder won't hurt. We'de love to see ya this weekend-
Saturday April 30th at the Lucky Lounge (www.theluckylounge.com). No Cover, 8:30pm start time. For this one we're excited to be joined on stage by our good friend Cliff Oliver sitting in on the lap steel (Cliff also happens to be Bradley's uber-musically talented father, and just an all around nice guy).
Sunday May 1st at the Pecan St. Festival (www.roadstarproductions.com ) Free Show, 3:30pm start time, KLBJ Stage. Come out and meet Sonny's beautiful little baby Ethan... as this will be his first Sounds Under Radio experience (and yes we've bought Ethan some baby ear muffs to protect his baby hearing... so don't worry).
