Re: Bump
So many...
"Wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door" is one that I never tire of. It paints a such a complex picture in one little line.
At the other extreme, Morrissey's phrasing of the lines:
"Nothing/
Appears/
to be/
between the ears/
of/
The lazy sunbathers"
Also by Morrissey and in his more serious mode, I loved his lines from "Dial a Cliche":
"And you've found that you've organised your feelings/ for people/ who didn't like you then and do not like you still".

Re: Bump
Nowt to do with song lyrics, but this always spooks me:
"Be sober, be watchful, for your adversary the Devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
Shame I never take the advice

Re: Bump
"Got everything to gain 'cause she's a fat girl with a lisp" from 'Belle and Sebastian - Expectations' first springs to mind.

Re: Bump
Biblical but I know not which Testament, Book, chapter & verse - for once
Used to be out-spoken at Evening Service on a Sunday night when I was a weaner. Always beshivered me timbers.
Seems there's a bit of catholicism in us both, dude!
