Re: so what courses did you get?
Hi! My classes are:
Course 1: Digging on the Shoulders of Giants
Course 2: Cultural Borders and Boundaries: Where do you draw the line?

Is there anyone out there with the same course 2 as me??? I haven't found anyone else!!:confused

Man I have been so into 1984 lately...I finally get the whole 'Big Brother is watching' references which are...everywhere! :ninja

Course 1:"Just don't bring one home" (race relations)
Course 2:"Funny Bombs" or Giants at War

Course 1 was second to foreign policy, but oh well. can't have it all, i suppose!

Re: so what courses did you get?
I was wondering if anybody had the same courses as me...i got the Life to Life course for course one (foreign policy was my first choice but it seems pretty popular) and under the radar for my second course.

abuttononurshirt and solitaire07, i did SEP two years too...as a rising 5th and rising 7th grader...this sounds kind of similar. One of my friends is going to SEP this year

Well. I'm in california for june, so I called my mom and made her read me pretty much the whole packet. My classes are:

1. Longitude, Latitude, Attitude
&
2. Livin on the Edge of America.

I dont remember what my choices were, or really what any of the classes are about. But hey! Thats what i'm goin to Gov School for, to try new things! So i'm up for all of it!

Well, it is a bit of a heavy handed style when it comes to Ayn Rand. I might direct a stage version of "1984" this spring.

Re: RE: re: 1984
Take your time with it (I guess there's no other way to do it, with 700+ pages). There's a lot to think about. Many of the dystopian elements are within the characters themselves, rather than solely manifested in the world around them.8o

that's super cool trinawashere, good choice, though. I don't really recall much of SEP, it was 6 years ago, after all.

but gov school was totally the right choice. it's AMAZING.

But uh, yeah...I was a little smarty in 6th grade....funny how things change. ha.
