i need some help
how can i make a thing to where when, and only when the player gets a certain object they can move on to the next level? the only way ive figured is to make a whole lot of the same level... and that isnt very good to the game and its a lot of work, and anyways its very very stressful. all i want to know is what procedure do i use, i mean is it forks because that is the only thing in the game i dont understand, that and switches. also how do you make a chest so that every time a character goes up to it and opens it they dont get sumthin out of it. that is a really bad prob. 2
You can probably make it work with switches or variable( I understand forks pretty well, I barely understand switches, and I'm clueless about variables, but they seem to work in all the games i've studied so far)

ok where ever they get the item att a change switch and call it something like HasItem or whatever
then in the teleport event (stairs or whatever) make the first page do nothing make a second page that actually will tp the char to the next level and at the top under event conditions chec the box next to the first switch and then select your HasItem switch as the switch it uses then once that switch and only once that switch has been turned on the teleport will be active until then the teleport will just do nothing you can also set the icon the stairs or whatever to not show up until the switch is active or have a door open then leading to the stairs.
