"I AM WHO I AM"
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward." Genesis 15:1

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

What makes Christianity different from any other religion in the world is that Christ Himself is the author and finisher of our faith as well as our shield, exceeding great reward and all that we need! He is the one that lives His life through us and makes us through the Holy Spirit and makes us eligible to receive all His showers of blessings in abundance. God’s word is true:

Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.' "Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, "I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt; "and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey." ' "Then they will heed your voice; and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt; and you shall say to him, 'The LORD God of the Hebrews has met with us; and now, please, let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.' "But I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty hand. "So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go. "And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. "But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians." Genesis 3:13-22

Yes, God desires to deliver His people from the world and spoil His people with the plunder of the world, just like He did for the children of Israel when He brought them out of Egypt! He desires that all the blessings l come upon them and overtake them, because they obeyed His voice He desires that the be blessed be in the city, and blessed and in the country, be blessed in and with all things and be blessed when they come in, and blessed when they go out. He desires that all their enemies who rise against them be defeated before their face; they shall come out against them one way and flee before them seven ways, He desires to grant them plenty of goods and to open to them His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of their hands so that they shall lend and not borrow. He desires that they be the head and not the tail; above only, and not be beneath for they are after all King’s kids. God’s word is unchanging:

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

Yes, Christ Himself has come that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. Though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor, that we through His poverty might become rich. He comes to us as rain. He transfigures Himself as the rain. He is our rain from above. Very often we cry, "We want a revival!" But Jesus says, "I am the Revival!" We pray, "Lord, send us a shower of blessing!" and Jesus says, "I have come down as a Shower of blessing to you." He is all that we need in every circumstance that we find ourselves in. He is our Desire, our Provider, our Savior, our Redeemer, our Deliverer, our Comfort, our Friend, our Guide, our Miracle Worker, our God and our All! His word is true:

The LORD knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Psalm 37:18-19

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

Yes, God freely gives His trusting ones all things, including the victory and every good thing. For He is their sun and their shield and no good things does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Yes, we have a good God who comes to bless us as a mighty torrent all the 24 hours of all the days of the year. He is our Lord Jesus Christ! He will make us rejoice and fill us with joy and victory. Hence we are not to be not dismayed for His word is unchanging:

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
"Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:11-13

I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11

Yes, God gives victory and does great and wonderful things for the righteous, who trust in Him as their all and obey His voice. But He doesn’t do the same for the unrighteous. His word is unchanging:

Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."

But to the wicked God says: "What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth, Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you? When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers. You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother's son. These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes.

"Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver: Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God." Psalm 50: 14-23
